What you will have an opportunity to do:
SUMMARY
The Security Director is responsible for overseeing the security in the resort, ensuring a safe environment for guests and team members by establishing and enforcing comprehensive security policies. The role includes hiring and training the security team to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. The Security Manager is pivotal in developing the emergency procedure of the resort and conducting regular training sessions to maintain a safe environment for associates and guests. Building strong working relationships with local law enforcement and emergency agencies is essential. The Security Manager must present a professional, approachable demeanor, providing reassurance to resort associates and customers that safety and security are top priorities every day. QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related training in security related subjects.
• 5+ years of management experience in security/law enforcement, preferably in large hotels or resorts.
• Relevant certifications including CPR and life safety.
• Proficiency in report writing and investigation techniques; ability to suggest corrective action to improve the security throughout the resort.
• Computer knowledge, including Microsoft 365 Suite and security management platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, direct and motivate staff.
• Knowledgeable of fire, security, and keyless access systems.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
• CUSTOMER SERVICE: Meet service quality standards that affect guest satisfaction; respond to guest questions or problems in a timely, professional manner. Identify and report any hazards to guests or employees.
• WORK HABITS: Meet the hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, attendance, and punctuality; report to work and return from breaks on time; give advance notice when absence of self and others are anticipated; require typical amount of supervision; accept work assignments without complaints, fill in scheduling gaps of departmental personnel when necessary, keeping supervisory management informed of major changes in departmental processes or personnel management needs.
• PEOPLE: Manage people according to Pyramid Global Hospitality’s values, which are centered around putting associates first. Instill a servant culture which is focused upon partnering and supporting all members of the team. Manage human resources functions including recruiting, selection, orientation, training, performance reviews, pay and recognition programs to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce. Maintain a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management. Emphasize training and development as a way of doing business in order to empower employees to successfully perform their jobs. Help to develop management talent by acting as a mentor for direct reports. Resolve employee grievances fairly and timely. Ensure employees fully understand performance standards, review process, and reward successes. Manage safety program to protect guests and employees and which meets OSHA requirements. Use ongoing safety plan to minimize workers’ compensation claims.
• PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: Accept opportunities to learn new organizational skills, improve performance by cross-training subordinates for various duties to departmental standards; solve routine problems that occur on the job requiring minimal supervision.
• SAFETY AND SECURITY: Be alert to hazards and responsible in carrying out hotel’s safety, security, and emergency procedures; suggest ways to improve safety conditions that reduce or prevent accidents and injuries; participate on safety committee or other special projects for safety; actively seek and report potential security risks or hazardous conditions.
• SECURITY Management: Maintain good working understanding of all security collateral programs and perform regular audits when necessary. Ensure employee involvement in preventive maintenance, security, health and sanitation, and safety programs, while operating applicable technology-based devices and company data bases. Ensures proper working conditions and proper level of supplies are maintained. Maintain high morale for staff and report any concerns to management in a timely manner. Knowledgeable in operating standards and holds employees accountable for consistently meeting those standards. Ensure safety programs are in place which meet OSHA standards. Maintain accurate files for all inspections, licenses and contracts. Supervise all access to facility grounds and key distribution to all authorized employees.
