About this role

Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club , located in Coral Gables, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Lead Childcare Attendant! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

About Us

Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club is a premier private club on Biscayne Bay, built around exceptional service, a strong sense of community, and a team that takes pride in taking care of its members and one another. Families are at the heart of our club, and we want parents to enjoy their time here knowing their children are safe, happy, and in caring hands.

The Role

The Lead Childcare Attendant runs the club's childcare program, providing a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for members' children ages 2 through 15 while their parents enjoy the club. This is a full-time leadership role: you'll plan and lead programming and day camps, guide and support our part-time childcare staff, and build warm, trusting relationships with both the children and their families. We're looking for someone who is naturally positive, patient, and caring, who genuinely loves working with children, and who takes the responsibility of their safety seriously.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Safety

Provide attentive, continuous supervision of all children in your care, keeping their safety and well-being the first priority at all times.

Follow club procedures for check-in and check-out, including verifying authorized pickups.

Note and follow any allergy, medical, or special care instructions provided by parents.

Respond calmly to injuries or emergencies, administer first aid as needed, and complete incident reports.

Program Leadership

Lead the childcare program day to day, setting activity plans and making sure the space runs smoothly.

Direct, train, and support part-time childcare staff on activities, safety procedures, and service standards.

Coordinate staffing coverage with management based on member demand and club events.

Activities, Programming & Day Camps

Plan and lead age-appropriate games, crafts, sports, story time, and activities for children ages 2 through 15.

Plan and run day camp programs during school breaks, holidays, and summer.

Help plan and run themed days, holiday events, and special children's programs throughout the year.

Encourage kindness, sharing, and positive behavior, and handle disagreements with patience and care.

Member & Family Service

Greet families warmly and help children feel comfortable and excited to join in.

Communicate with parents at pickup about their child's day, and share any concerns promptly and tactfully.

Learn members' and children's names and preferences to create a personal, welcoming experience.

Care of the Childcare Area

Keep the childcare room clean, organized, and inviting, and sanitize toys, surfaces, and equipment regularly.

Monitor supplies and let management know when toys, crafts, or materials need replacing.

Ensure the space meets the club's health and safety standards at all times.

What We're Looking For

Must be highly experienced in childcare, with at least 2 years running day camps and planning programs for children ages 2 through 15.

Experience leading or supervising other staff is preferred.

Background in a childcare center, school, camp, resort, or private club setting is a plus.

A naturally warm, positive, patient, and approachable personality, with a genuine love of working with children.

Responsible, dependable, and alert, with good judgment and the ability to stay calm in any situation.

Creative and energetic, with ideas for activities that children will enjoy.

Clear, friendly communication with both children and parents.

Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain before start date.

Early childhood education coursework or Florida DCF childcare training is a plus.

Must pass a background check.

Availability to work Wednesday through Sunday, including holidays and special club events, with shifts across mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
