The SFA is responsible for Controllership services for Corporate GOC and HCS supporting the departments of 2 Sr. Directors and 1 VP and the internal and external teams of Middlesex Assurance Company (MAC). The role is highly visible as the SFA is the lead authority on the actuals, is passionate about business understanding and cross-process coordination of the (US GAAP) BRAVO financial results for External Reporting and drives balanced collaboration across the three-tier model. The SFA provides trusted business partners, across all levels, with the crucial Controllership Services that enable transformations, sustain E2E accounting oversight, and influence financial decisions. Through special projects, such as SigniFi, this role is at the forefront of influencing next-generation technology, providing support to cross-functional stakeholders to ensure solutions that address Financial Reporting compliance and business needs.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Partner across all tiers of the organization in this high exposure role to coordinate and facilitate closing efforts, and ensure financial statements are accurate, timely, and compliant for the MRCs supported.
- Own Trial Balance, Balance Sheet and Capital flux commentary collection and reviews, including forecasting cycles for MAC MRC.
- Ensure SOX compliance and support internal/external audit processes.
- Drive standardization and process improvement across departments, leveraging digital tools and maximizing efficiency.
- Act as strategic finance advisor to BUF, FP&A and senior business leaders.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support planning, forecasting, and performance management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives, M&A activities, and strategic projects, serving as the “Face of GS”.
- Support, influence, and execute SigniFi and any other Technological Transformation initiatives, managing change and shaping processes

Qualifications:
- Fluent in English
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably a major in Accounting or Finance or another related field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications such as MBA, CPA or CMA etc. is preferred.
- A minimum 3 years of finance or related business experience is required.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). SAP, CFIN and AFO are preferred.
- The ability to think creatively and work in a team environment is required, including strong stakeholder management in a multicultural environment
- The ability to effectively take on leadership roles in various functions is required.
- Must work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently and handle several tasks simultaneously.
