At Mass General Brigham Home Care, you’ll build meaningful relationships, use your clinical judgment, and make a difference where patients feel most at home.
As a PTA, you’ll have the independence to manage your patients and schedule, without giving up the support of a strong team.

Most visits will be in North Reading, Topsfield, Boxford, North Andover, with additional coverage in Danvers, Hathorne, Lynnfield, Middleton, Peabody, W. Boxford, Hamilton, S. Hamilton, Wrentham as needed.
You’ll work with a diverse patient population and provide care where patients live every day.

•A schedule that works for you: Part-time, 20-hour schedule with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Choose a schedule that fits your needs, such as 5 days × 4 hours, 4 days × 5 hours, or 3 days with two 8-hour days and one 4-hour day. Your schedule will be flexible and mutually agreed upon with the team, with the opportunity to increase your hours if desired.
•Collaborative care in beautiful communities: Work in some of the most beautiful parts of Northern Massachusetts alongside 1–2 physical therapists, caring for a diverse home care population with a strong focus on orthopedic patients.
•Time to do the job right: Dedicated time for documentation, chart review, visit preparation, and care coordination so you can stay focused on providing high-quality patient care.
•Strong team support: Weekly interdisciplinary pod meetings, monthly team meetings, and quarterly in-person team days keep you connected to your colleagues and supported in your work.
•Support to grow: Ongoing training, education, and opportunities to collaborate across disciplines and continue developing your skills.

Our onboarding is designed to help you feel prepared and confident working independently in the community. You’ll also have ongoing opportunities for training, education, and professional development.
Your time matters, too
Your schedule includes dedicated time for documentation, chart review, and care coordination. Our MGB electronic documentation system gives you easy access to doctors’ notes and orders, helping make communication and care coordination more seamless.
Your safety matters

What you’ll do
As a PTA, you’ll provide hands-on physical therapy treatment in patients’ homes under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist. You’ll work closely with the PT and interdisciplinary team to help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and function.
You’ll:
•Provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction of the physical therapist
•Help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence
•Implement individualized treatment plans based on the physical therapist’s plan of care
•Recommend and reinforce fall prevention and home safety strategies
•Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, and strategies to support progress at home
•Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the physical therapist
•Document patient visits, interventions, and progress in the electronic medical record
•Collaborate with the physical therapist and interdisciplinary care team to support safe, effective patient care
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
- Two years experience in acute care, rehab or homecare as a Physical Therapy Assistant
- Current registration with the Massachusetts Board of Registration
- Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and electronic
- Comfort with technology and the ability to learn new systems
- The ability to prioritize, stay organized, and adapt to changing situations
- Willingness to travel throughout Mass General Brigham Healthcare at Home’s geographic area
