About this role

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Project Manager on a permanent basis on our Facilities, Design & Development team.

This position is a hybrid opportunity and can based in either Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Calgary or Edmonton and will oversee projects at locations across the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS).

We’re looking for an experienced, collaborative Project Manager II to lead capital construction projects through the engineering, procurement, construction and closes out phases while serving as a trusted partner and subject matter expert for assigned projects. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact by driving projects forward, coordinating stakeholders and resources, and delivering safe, high-quality results on time and within budget.

What you’ll do:

- Lead assigned capital projects through the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project closeout.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing clear, timely communications throughout project execution.
- Manage relationships with Local Co-ops, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal FCL stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Lead procurement activities, including consultant and contractor selection, tender evaluations, contract negotiations and award recommendations.
- Facilitate design coordination meetings, pre-construction planning sessions and construction progress meetings.
- Source, review and approve owner-supplied design inputs.
- Review engineered drawings, technical specifications, tender documentation and construction contracts to ensure constructability, compliance to FCL standards, quality expectations and business requirements.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, quality, safety performance, scope changes and contractor performance, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Coordinate the sourcing, procurement and timeline delivery of owner-supplied equipment and materials.
- Support project commissioning, deficiency management, warranty reviews, lessons learned and final closeout activities.
- Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship and performance management to assigned project team members.
- Provide subject matter expertise to Local Co-ops and internal stakeholders regarding construction practices, project delivery strategies and facility-related concerns.
- Support the development of FCL’s project management best practices, standards and process utilized for project execution.
- Travel up to 25% as required to support project delivery across the CRS.
- Have 8+ years of relevant progressively responsible experience. Preference for construction or project management experience.
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
- A Degree in Engineering is considered an asset.
- Have a strong understanding of all stages of a project life cycle.
- Have a strong understanding of CCDC 2, 5B and 14 contract methodologies.
- Commercial construction experience and knowledge is considered an asset.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
