About the Role

The Newcomer Centre is looking for a Facilitator to support our Youth Leading Change program. This program helps newcomer youth build leadership skills, explore career opportunities, get involved in their communities, and gain experience through workshops, volunteer opportunities, and hands-on activities.

In this role, you will work directly with youth, co-facilitate engaging workshops, provide mentorship and support, and help create programming that responds to participants’ interests and needs. You will also support community activities, volunteer placements, program tracking, and other day-to-day program needs.

Hybrid in this role refers to a combination of on-site service delivery and community-based work (e.g., employer visits, workshops, outreach, and client meetings). This is not a work-from-home position. Remote work occurs only occasionally, based on program needs.

- Supervise and support youth during volunteer placements and community events throughout Edmonton.

- Gather youth feedback and help improve program activities and content.

- Maintain attendance, participant information, program documentation, and other required tracking.

- Create engaging presentations and workshop materials using tools such as Canva and Microsoft PowerPoint.

- Support communication and coordination with community partners, volunteers, guest speakers, and other stakeholders.

- Experience using interactive and youth-centered approaches to engage participants.

- Experience providing mentorship or supporting youth with leadership, volunteering, or career development.
