JOB SUMMARY
Daily work hours: 7:00 am– 3:30 pm
The Autobody Prepper prepares truck bodies and components for painting by completing surface preparation, masking, caulking, and undercoating. This role ensures surfaces are clean, properly finished, and ready for paint application, supporting a durable, high-quality finish. Working closely with the paint and production teams, the Autobody Prepper follows work instructions, meets production deadlines, and maintains a safe and organized work area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare vehicles for painting, including sanding, minor bodywork, applying fillers, and masking surfaces as required.
- Accurately mask and protect vehicle areas using tape, paper, and plastic to prevent overspray.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; perform routine shop housekeeping.
- Report any issues that may impact quality or timelines to management.
- Safely operate and maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow all safety procedures and consistently wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators.
- Comply with all applicable regulations related to paints, solvents, and hazardous materials.
- Support team operations and assist with additional tasks as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
- Apprenticeship an asset
- 1-3+ years of related employment experience is a bonus, but not required. Experience in autobody prepping
