Kaman & Cusimano, LLC, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Indianapolis office and help support our continued growth. This newly created role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact while building a long-term career with a collaborative team.
What You'll Do
- Enter and process vendor invoices with appropriate coding and documentation
- Prepare payments by check or credit card and maintain accurate vendor records
- Process incoming payments, including checks, ACH transactions, and wire transfers
- Prepare bank deposits for the Indianapolis office and accurately post payments to customer accounts
- Code receipts, transactions, and budget line items using established general ledger codes
- Assist with credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activities
- Support month-end close activities as you become familiar with the firm’s processes
- Help maintain escrow and trust-related account records
- Assist with audits, reporting, internal documentation, and adherence to financial controls
- Collaborate virtually with accounting colleagues supporting the firm’s other office locations
What We're Looking For
- Associate degree in accounting or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- One to two years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting
- Working knowledge of transaction coding, reconciliations, deposits, and accounting data entry
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage recurring accounting tasks accurately
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and spreadsheets; pivot table and VLOOKUP experience is helpful
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Microsoft Business Central preferred
- Law firm, professional services, or escrow/trust account experience is a plus, but not required
