Overview
As a member of the Paramount Privacy engineering team, you’ll support the day-to-day operational management and implementation of the global Paramount Privacy Program. You’ll put user data protection first by building and supporting scalable tools, utilities, and infrastructure that keep consumer data secure across platforms—including connected TVs, mobile apps, and web ecosystems. You’ll partner closely with legal, product, and cross-functional technology teams to translate complex privacy regulations (such as GDPR and CCPA) into concrete engineering requirements and embed privacy-by-design principles directly into our systems. You’ll take technical ownership of privacy codebases while facilitating automated testing and compliance frameworks across the company.
Responsibilities
- Partner with legal, product, and technology teams to embed privacy-by-design principles into products and backend infrastructure.
- Translate global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) into concrete engineering requirements, technical specifications, and system architectures.
- Take technical ownership of privacy codebases and build, enhance, and maintain scalable Privacy infrastructure.
- Develop new privacy technologies and extend existing tools, utilities, automation, and diagnostic scripts.
- Conduct comprehensive privacy compliance audits across Web, Mobile, and Connected TV (CTV) platforms.
- Automate consent management platform (CMP) compliance testing and execute cross-functional integration testing with engineering teams across different business units.
- Create, maintain, document, and execute manual and automated test plans and test cases against our software platforms and applications.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new developer tools, frameworks, and methodologies to assist the privacy engineering team.
- Document existing and new technical processes, maintaining clear architectural documentation for internal teams.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with proficient engineering fundamentals (Git, testing, code review, CI/CD).
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- 5+ years of experience building software tools, utilities, automation, and diagnostics using Python, Ruby, or Ruby on Rails.
- 3+ years of experience developing and deploying cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP.
- Proven ability to execute automated and manual testing, extend test frameworks, and maintain CI/CD quality gates.
Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Haves)
- 3+ years of experience developing, testing, or debugging mobile and OTT/CTV applications across Apple, Amazon, Android, and Roku platforms.Hands-on experience with SDK development, JavaScript bundlers, and build utilities (e.g., Webpack).
- Experience conducting privacy compliance audits and diagnosing configuration issues with IAB frameworks.
- Experience implementing or managing Consent Management Platforms (CMPs).
- Active IAPP Certification (CIPT preferred).
- An affinity for data protection, consumer trust, and privacy-by-design principles in media and entertainment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $124,000.00 - 186,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
