We’re now looking for a Media Exchange Operator to join our busy Sydney station on a CASUAL basis, with hours and days varying depending on demand.

What you’ll do as a Media Exchange Operator:

You’ll combine your strong attention to detail and technical skills to ingest and prepare media for News and Production, working closely with newsroom and production staff to keep media-based operations running smoothly. Working with state-of-the-art technology in a supportive, high-morale team, you’ll have the chance to expand your skills, collaborate across business units and engage in the power of content.

Functions will also include:

- Ingesting media for News and Production, from local news gathering and production shoots to international satellite feeds.

- Scheduling records for News and Production, ensuring media assets are readily available within our Media Asset Management system for all our internal production teams and newsroom.

- Preparing and monitoring playout media for live studio News and Production, applying advanced workflow tools to track media through each stage of the process.

- QC of News and Production media assets, ensuring technical standards are maintained.

- Maintaining clear media metadata naming conventions and asset organisation within a vast media management system shared by a large number of users

- Maintaining archival requirements, ensuring media assets are properly kept for future use.

- Completing basic editing to prepare media for playout, or condense content where necessary.

- Liaising with newsroom and production staff, the Network Operations Centre (NOC) and acquisitions crews, ensuring all broadcast items are ready for edit when required.

- Distributing media to internal teams and external organisations, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.

• Strong computer literacy and enjoy the use of new technology
• Ability to learn and adapt to continuously evolving technology, practices and procedures.
• Can work within a 24/7 day rotating roster.
