Position Overview:
The Corpus Christi Hooks are seeking an enthusiastic candidate to drive the development of the marketing, sales and execution of events and special events at the Whataburger Field . This role will encompass the planning, execution and completion of events with a variety of associated accountabilities. This position has a strong emphasis in relationship building skills and requires personal drive, determination, and hard work in a fun, fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities :
- Support on-site operations for all non-baseball events at the Whataburger Field and serve as a day-to-day contact for clients and vendors.
- Assist with events from start to finish, including walkthroughs, gathering rate information, coordinating contracts, pre-event planning, food and beverage details, staffing support, load-in/out coordination, event execution and post-event wrap-up.
- Participate in internal and external meetings as needed, including walkthroughs, tours, menu reviews, and pre-shift meetings.
- Coordinate internal staffing schedules and help arrange third-party vendors for event set-up, tear-down and execution.
- Maintain strong working relationships with operations, grounds, food & beverage, marketing, sales and other internal teams.
- Support outreach efforts by preparing materials, responding to inquiries, and helping with follow-up to generate new event leads.
- Assist with research, planning and coordination of special event opportunities for both outside rentals and events tied to existing baseball operations.
- Work with marketing to support events within events and other initiatives that help drive engagement and revenue on game days.
- Help maintain relationships with local event planners, vendors and partners to support event success.
- Assist with executing the marketing plan for stadium events, including updating website event information, social media details and rental materials.
- Work with the creative team to provide information needed for marketing collateral and presentations.
- Compile and distribute event details and communication to internal departments in a timely manner.
- Provide strong customer service to clients before, during and after events.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
- Record post-event notes and assist with follow-up documentation.
- Support preparation of event-related reports and tracking, including invoices, payments and basic event summaries.
- Coordinate with the stadium concessionaire on menu details and catering needs for events.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including tarp pulls and game day responsibilities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Outstanding computer skills including MS Office products are necessary
- Must be able to work holidays, evenings, and weekends.
- 1 - 3 years of related experience with a working knowledge of local and/or regional markets, event or venue operations, sales or marketing in the event industry is required.
- Bachelor's degree in business, facility/hospitality/sport management or similar.
- Ability to learn all video board and sound related equipment and basic functions.
