About the Trenton Thunder:
The Trenton Thunder are a member of the MLB Draft League, a summer league that showcases top college talent as players prepare for the MLB Draft. The club plays at Trenton Thunder Ballpark in Trenton, New Jersey, and has been a fixture of the community since 1994. Known for its fan-friendly atmosphere and strong local roots, the Thunder combine competitive baseball with creative promotions and entertainment for fans of all ages. As part of the DBH network, the Thunder are focused on delivering an exceptional fan experience.
Position Overview:
The Trenton Thunder are seeking a motivated Group Sales Account Representative to drive group ticket sales and revenue. In this role, you will prospect and build relationships with potential group buyers, manage a pending list, process group orders, and represent the club at community events. You will work closely with the broader DBH organization to deliver an outstanding fan experience. The ideal candidate is a driven, organized, collaborative communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment and is comfortable working nights, weekends and holidays. This is a full-time,exempt position reporting to the VP, Ticket Sales. The start date is ASAP.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prospect new leads and contribute to the overall sales goal by hitting a yearly ticket and revenue goal
- Maintain and grow a pending list
- Make 60+ calls a day to potential group buyers
- Process group orders and handle inbound group-related calls
- Attend Chamber of Commerce events
- Attend mascot appearances, serving as both the mascot and handler
- Provide daily and weekly reports to the VP, Ticket Sales
- Work all Thunder home games and additional non-baseball events
- Assist with tarp
- Assist in other efforts as needed by the ticket department
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university required; must have graduated in order to apply
- At least 1 season of sports industry experience preferred
- Excellent communication, networking and writing skills
- Demonstrated high degree of motivation, time management, attention to detail and organization
- Strong collaborative spirit, with the ability to recognize and work toward overall goals and vision
- Ability to work long hours, weekends and holidays
