Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Manager IV to provide overall management and administration of an assigned construction project. This role will provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers and supervisors, maintain close communication with the client, and ensure all aspects of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget, schedule, and applicable company and project requirements. The position will also have significant profit and loss responsibility for the assigned construction project.

This position will require after-hours work based on project and client needs, including evenings, weekends, and/or other non-standard work hours as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide overall management and administration of the assigned construction project and assist in establishing project-specific objectives and policies.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers and supervisors and enforce company and project policies.
- Maintain close communication and coordination with the client, contractors, consultants, and project team.
- Support the Bid and Award Phase, including project meetings, site visits, and bidding support.
- Oversee the Construction Phase, including project meetings, site visits, and construction administration.
- Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, cost/resource-loaded schedules and updates, proposed change order requests, and contractor payment requests.
- Provide escorts for contract employees or visitors, as needed.
- Review requests for changes to contract time and price.
- Maintain complete and accurate electronic and hardcopy records of all construction documentation.
- Maintain project documentation and logs, including submittals, RFIs, potential change orders and change orders, information bulletins, deficient work notices, A&E field reports, Testing, Inspection, and Observation (TIO) documents and logs, inspection logs, laboratory inspection and testing reports, permit matrices, action items, and other logs as requested by the Department of General Services (DGS).
- Maintain permits, insurance documentation, daily reports, and record sets of construction documents/as-builts.
- Lead and participate in project site meetings.
- Perform quality reviews and monitor construction activities for compliance with design, contract, and project requirements.
- Prepare and review monthly project reports.
- Review and manage progress payments.
- Coordinate and oversee testing and inspection activities.
- Support start-up and commissioning activities.
- Oversee project completion and closeout activities.
- Assist with the management and resolution of disputes and claims.
- Manage project financial performance and exercise significant profit and loss responsibility for the assigned project.
- Ensure project activities are performed in accordance with applicable company, client, contract, regulatory, and project requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field and 6+ years of relevant construction management experience with fire alarm or smoke control installations.
- California state project experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
- A valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, contractor payment requests, project documentation, and scheduling.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and financial performance.
- Experience working with contractors, clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience working with the California State Fire Marshal (CSFM).
- Experience working on California public works projects.
- Experience with California Department of General Services (DGS) projects or requirements.
- Experience with cost/resource-loaded schedules.
- Experience with testing, inspection, and observation requirements.
- Experience with start-up, commissioning, completion, and project closeout.
- Experience managing disputes and claims.
