The Applied Global Services Chemical Mechanical Planarization Service Business Unit is seeking a candidate with strong technical knowledge of semiconductor equipment, preferably in CMP, hardware design, process engineering, and customer fabrication operations. This role engages early in the Product Development Process (PDP) to integrate after-sales service planning from initial concept through final product release. The position works closely with the equipment Business Unit (BU) and cross-functional teams to improve product performance and service readiness for systems installed at customer sites worldwide. The ideal candidate has a passion for technical program management, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive growth through digital tool enabled service products and customer evaluations.

Role Focus: Lead digital tool enabled service-product development and New Product Introduction (NPI) customer-site evaluations while ensuring product-development service readiness and coordinated execution across service, equipment, field, and customer teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with the BU to integrate service requirements and service-product offerings into PDP and NPI plans.

- Develop new digital capabilities, predictive analytics solutions, and differentiated service-product offerings for emerging applications and platforms.

- Lead NPI evaluations and demonstrations at customer sites through the service evaluation, including the Statement of Work, technical requirements, success criteria, deliverables, schedule commitments, and closure.

- Lead cross-functional execution teams and collaborate with engineering, field service, product support, application engineering, digital-tool teams, and customers on scope, analysis, schedule, risks, deliverables, and issue resolution.

- Lead customer technical reviews, communicate values and measurable results, and close evaluation and service-readiness gaps.

- Define and approve product application-support plans and knowledge-transfer packages for service-product offerings, new applications, and platforms.

- Ensure products meet serviceability, reliability, downtime, performance, cost-of-ownership, and design-for-service requirements.

- Develop methodologies and digital tools to optimize system performance using machine learning, predictive analytics, matching programs, and customer-value models, including UVA models where applicable. Adapt existing tools for current applications and platforms and support complex software deployment.

- Perform technical and data analysis, summarize results, and transfer application and platform knowledge to product divisions and customer-support teams.

- Drive readiness of spare parts, training, service documentation, diagnostics, tooling, escalation paths, and field-support processes.

- Coordinate training and knowledge transfer across technical support, field service, product support, digital-tool, FabVantage, and other relevant teams.

- Support product-change management, product-line obsolescence, and end-of-life planning, including engineering changes, supplier changes, qualification packages, and customer impacts.

- Provide concise program updates on status, risks, decisions, dependencies, measurable outcomes, and recovery plans.

Functional and Technical Qualifications

- Conceptual and practical expertise in semiconductor equipment, preferably chemical mechanical planarization, with knowledge of hardware, process technology, applications, platforms, or customer fabrication operations.

- Working knowledge of product development, new-product introduction, service readiness, product release, customer-site evaluation, and field-support requirements.

- Program-management experience leading matrixed, cross-functional technical programs and customer evaluations.

- Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams, system specifications, and technical qualification data.

- Programming or scripting experience using Python, C++, HTML, JMP, MATLAB, Excel automation, or comparable tools; application-development experience is preferred.

- Understanding of digital tools, machine learning, predictive analytics, matching programs, diagnostics, data pipelines, and customer-value models.

- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and prepare clear materials for technical reviews and presentations.

Business Acumen, Leadership, and Interpersonal Skills

- Demonstrates strong business acumen and understanding of semiconductor markets, customers, segments, fabrication operations, service-business value drivers, and competitive dynamics, including market sizing, customer-needs analysis, segmentation, and identification of service-product growth opportunities.

- Develops business cases using revenue potential, cost, return on investment, economic value analysis, customer value, competitive differentiation, and execution risk to support investment and prioritization decisions.

- Defines and supports go-to-market strategies for digital tool enabled service products, including the value proposition, target customers, positioning, pricing inputs, launch readiness, and field enablement.

- Partners with marketing, sales, regional, and technical teams to translate customer and market insights into product requirements, service offers, and adoption plans.

- Integrates service and equipment Business Unit best practices while balancing customer needs, technical risk, schedule, cost, performance, and long-term support.

- Solves complex problems using multiple information sources and sound judgment.

- Leads projects with manageable risks and resource requirements and supports less-experienced colleagues.

- Works effectively in matrixed teams, builds consensus, and influences stakeholders toward the right solution.

- Communicates complex or sensitive information clearly and presents effectively to customer, technical, and leadership audiences.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, materials, software, data analytics, or a related engineering discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.

- Typically 7 years of relevant experience in a business unit, application engineering, platform engineering, product support, field service, digital engineering, or technical program management.

- Product-specific knowledge spanning hardware and process technologies; customer-site evaluation experience is preferred.
