Job Title: Senior Project Manager and Office Leader Job Description
This role combines Senior project leadership with office-level oversight, guiding the successful delivery of complex, large-scale design-build projects while driving office growth, team development, and operational excellence. The Senior Project Manager and Office Leader partners with multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, and designers to coordinate global stakeholders, integrate regional requirements, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes for advanced technology and industrial clients. This position also plays a key role in strengthening strategic client partnerships, leading business development efforts, and mentoring the next generation of project management professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex design-build projects from initial kickoff through construction closeout, ensuring all phases align with client expectations and project goals.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk to achieve successful delivery of large-scale engineering and construction projects.
- Coordinate clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to keep projects aligned, on track, and fully integrated across disciplines.
- Develop detailed project plans, manage scope changes, and proactively resolve issues before they affect cost, schedule, or quality.
- Maintain project schedules, track milestones, monitor progress, and address schedule risks through proactive mitigation strategies.
- Drive collaboration and coordination among architectural, engineering, and design teams to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Serve as the primary client contact, providing regular updates on project status, risks, decisions, and overall performance.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to cost, schedule, safety, and quality, including change order management.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, client requirements, regulatory guidelines, and applicable codes throughout project delivery.
- Support construction activities by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, conducting site visits, and participating in progress and coordination meetings.
- Mentor Project Managers and emerging leaders, providing guidance, feedback, and support to develop future project management talent.
- Continuously improve project management processes, tools, and best practices to enhance efficiency and consistency across projects.
- Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all projects and field activities.
- Lead and develop the local project management team, setting clear expectations and providing ongoing coaching and support.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing office culture that emphasizes teamwork, quality, and client service.
- Support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, succession planning, and career development initiatives for project management staff.
- Align office goals, project delivery practices, and resource planning with broader company strategy and objectives.
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing across project teams and the office.
- Act as a liaison between project teams and Senior leadership, ensuring alignment on priorities, risks, and strategic initiatives.
- Encourage collaboration across disciplines and locations to improve project execution and knowledge transfer.
- Support office operations, team engagement, and professional development programs that enhance staff growth and retention.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients in advanced technology, industrial, data center, semiconductor, and mission-critical markets.
- Identify new project opportunities within existing and target accounts and support business growth and market expansion.
- Lead client pursuits, including proposal development, presentations, interviews, fee negotiations, and contract discussions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by aligning project solutions with their business objectives and long-term strategies.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies to support permitting, compliance, and overall project success.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance visibility and credibility in target markets.
- Collaborate with business development and operational leaders to grow market presence, build backlog, and expand client relationships.
- Strengthen the firms reputation through consistent delivery of successful projects and exceptional client service.
Essential Skills
- At least 10 years of project management experience leading large-scale industrial, advanced technology, semiconductor, data center, manufacturing, or mission-critical facility projects from planning through closeout.
- Strong experience delivering projects within design-build, EPC, or integrated project delivery environments.
- Proven expertise in managing complex engineering and construction projects, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk.
- Experience leading projects involving data centers, semiconductor facilities, advanced manufacturing plants, mission-critical facilities, or large industrial projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage executive-level client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
- Experience leading project meetings, negotiations, and stakeholder communications across diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in budget forecasting, cost control, and financial management of large capital projects.
- Experience in schedule development and management, including milestone tracking and schedule risk mitigation.
- Strong risk management capabilities, including identification, assessment, mitigation, and change order management.
- Experience leading Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, designers, contractors, and consultants.
- Proven track record of mentoring, coaching, and developing staff, including future leaders.
- Office, department, or operational leadership experience with responsibility for team performance and culture.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously and coordinate cross-functional efforts across locations and disciplines.
- Experience in business development activities, including proposal development, client pursuits, and presentations.
- Demonstrated success in growing existing accounts and securing new business opportunities.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Deltek Vantagepoint, or similar scheduling and project controls platforms.
- Experience developing project schedules, managing resources, performing critical path analysis, and tracking project performance metrics.
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations, clients, and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical teams, executive leadership, clients, and project partners.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a history of resolving project challenges and keeping projects on schedule.
- Proven ability to build and sustain client relationships and support business development efforts, including winning new work.
- Experience leading proposals, interviews, contract negotiations, and project pursuit activities.
- Passion for mentoring Project Managers and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to travel to project sites and perform field walks in active industrial and construction environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- PMP certification preferred, with additional project management or leadership certifications considered an advantage.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly valued for candidates with an engineering background.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related technical field.
- Experience with design-build project management in advanced technology and industrial sectors.
- Hands-on experience with data center projects and other mission-critical facilities.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 for advanced scheduling and critical path analysis.
- Experience using Deltek Vantagepoint or similar platforms for project controls, resource management, and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to office or operations leadership, including strategic planning and process improvement.
- Experience representing an organization at industry events, conferences, and client forums.
- Comfort working with global and regional stakeholders, integrating diverse requirements into cohesive project plans.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $90.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
