Position Summary:
The SharePoint Developer - Journeyman will support the US Army Environmental Command (USAEC) Operations Branch at Joint Base San Antonio, TX. They will support USAEC business practices and management tasks including implementing the SharePoint site, records/document management, audit processes, budget tracking, and other duties. This position is located at Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Full consideration date is 20 October 2026, 11:59 PM (MT).
Essential Job Duties:
- Designs, develops, and maintains SharePoint and Power Platform solutions that automate workflows, enhance data accessibility, and improve operational efficiency across the organization.
- Analyzes business requirements, resolves technical issues, and produces accurate documentation while applying best practices to ensure scalable, reliable, and maintainable enterprise solutions.
- Serves as a technical expert in areas relevant to the project. Must be capable of demonstrating experience in conducting analysis and developing solutions and in the application of information technology.
- Produces and reviews technical documentation reflecting detailed knowledge of specific technical area.
- Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or service, and suggests changes to increase efficiency.
Conditions of Employment:
- Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires).
- Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date.
- The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; the department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
- Must be able to comply with all applicable regulations to obtain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) and public trust clearance; required at a minimum to complete a NACI/SF85 and successfully pass a federal background check.
- Must hold or be able to obtain Secret Clearance.
Supervision:
- Does not supervise.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Computer Science or related degree or four (4) years of applicable experience.
- At least three (3) years of experience solving technical problems (or managing the solution of technical problems) within the last five (5) years.
- Demonstrated experience conducting analysis and developing solutions and in the application of information technology.
- Demonstrated experience producing and reviewing technical documentation reflecting detailed knowledge of specific technical area.
- Demonstrated experience providing solutions for operations and ensuring compliance with all management policies, plans, and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience providing recommendations for resolution of technical problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters in Computer Science or a related degree.
- Experience with SharePoint Online, Power Apps, and/or other data visualization programs.
- Experience with Army365 or similar cloud-based environments.
