About this role

Technical Implementation Consultant (PromiseXP)

Are you a technically savvy problem-solver who thrives at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and the insurance industry? Do you love translating complex technical challenges into elegant, real-world solutions? If so, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact at Swiss Re.

About the Role

As a Technical Design Consultant, you will be at the heart of delivering PromiseXP — Swiss Re's industry-leading claims solution — to client companies across North America and Europe. This is a high-visibility, client-facing role where your technical expertise will directly shape how our clients integrate and benefit from one of the most innovative tools in the life insurance space. With significant new client activity underway and continued investment in the PromiseXP Solution, there has never been a more exciting time to join this team.

While this is primarily an architecture and solution design role, the successful candidate is expected to remain hands-on and actively contribute to Java development when required.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead technical design and integration: Architect and design integration blueprints for PromiseXP client deployments, ensuring a seamless fit within clients' existing IT environments. Provide technical leadership across APIs, integration technologies, event-driven architectures, data models, and solution design. Apply strong Java development expertise to guide implementation decisions and, when required, contribute directly to hands-on delivery of complex integration solutions.

- Drive pre-sales and client engagements: Deliver compelling presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions that articulate the value of PromiseXP. Provide architecture and integration expertise to help prospective clients understand solution capabilities, integration approaches, and implementation considerations.

- Collaborate across stakeholders : Liaise with clients' in-house IT staff, system integrators, and business partners to plan and identify optimal integration options

- Define and document requirements : Develop clear business and non-functional requirements , and raise well-structured change requests to Product Management

- Support the full implementation lifecycle : Support clients throughout initial installation, integration, and testing and all the way through to production go-live.

- Champion best practices : Consult with clients on system integration testing best practices , ensuring robust and reliable deployments

- Coordinate global software releases : Work with PromiseXP colleagues and global development teams to align client software releases , specify and review requirements for core system changes, and validate new releases

- Provide technical support : Serve as one of the key regional resources for handling service issues and change requests with efficiency and care

- Enable client success through training : Deliver required API training to clients on the effective use of PromiseXP software

- Travel as needed : Engage in periodic on-site work at client offices across North America, with occasional international travel to collaborate with global PromiseXP colleagues

About the Team

You will join the PromiseXP team within Swiss Re's Life & Health Solutions unit. We are a global team focused on shaping, implementing, and delivering PromiseXP, Swiss Re's market-leading claims technology platform, helping insurers streamline and transform their claims operations worldwide.

About You

You are a hands-on Integration Architect who combines strong architectural thinking with practical implementation experience. You enjoy designing, building, and delivering integration solutions rather than simply defining them. You are comfortable working directly with Java development, APIs, event-driven integrations, data models, cloud platforms, and troubleshooting complex technical issues, while engaging confidently with both business and technology stakeholders. With a strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and a focus on execution, you take ownership of solutions from concept through production deployment. You thrive in client-facing environments, collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams, and are passionate about expanding your expertise within the insurance and reinsurance domain.

We are looking for candidates meet these requirements:

Technical Skills & Experience

- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise integrations using REST APIs, messaging, and event-driven architectures.

- Strong hands-on experience with Java and RESTful web services, with a willingness to contribute to development activities when required.

- Strong understanding of integration standards and data formats, including REST, JSON, XML, and OpenAPI specifications.

- Deep expertise in enterprise identity and access management, including SSO, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML 2.0, JWT, RBAC, and service-to-service authentication.

- Experience integrating with enterprise identity providers such as Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Okta, Ping Identity, or equivalent IAM platforms.

- Proven ability to design secure, scalable, and maintainable integration solutions for cloud-native and enterprise platforms.

- Database proficiency, including data modelling, SQL query development, troubleshooting, and reporting.

- Experience with source control, change management, and modern software delivery practices.

Professional Skills

- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across business, architecture, security, and engineering teams.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

- Background as an Integration Architect, Solution Architect, Systems Analyst, or Senior Developer with broad enterprise technology experience.

- Experience in Life & Health insurance, claims, policy administration, or financial services is highly desirable.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
