As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Inventory Control Specialist, you will serve as the hands-on guardian of physical inventory accuracy across our warehouse operations. Working directly on the floor, you will execute daily cycle counts, investigate discrepancies between physical stock and system records, and drive root-cause corrective actions that prevent recurrence. This is a high-ownership, detail-driven role. You will not just count inventory—you will research transaction histories, trace process failures to their source, and prepare documented adjustment requests. The ideal candidate has sharp investigative instincts, thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a foundational understanding of aerospace/defense inventory compliance (including government property), and is passionate about physical inventory accuracy and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Own inventory accuracy, both physical and system records across all assigned locations.

- Perform daily cycle counts, scheduled counts, and wall-to-wall physical inventories.

- Investigate inventory discrepancies by researching transaction histories, receiving paperwork, and shipment documentation; trace variances from receipt through storage, picking, and shipment to pinpoint root cause.

- Document the specific process failure of impactful variances, identify repeating failure patterns, and escalate systemic issues to IC leadership. Maintain RCCA records supporting AS9100 and government property compliance.

- Reconcile physical inventory against WMS/ERP records and submit formal adjustment requests with complete supporting evidence; coordinate with IC Coordinator and Supervisor to ensure timely review and approval.

- Execute accurate inventory transactions—bin-to-bin movements, transfers, reservations, and unreservations—ensuring every movement is supported by the appropriate transfer order, work order, or documentation.

- Maintain accurate bin locations, material master information, and clearly defined inventory locations. Identify and resolve misplaced, unidentified, excess, or damaged material with the responsible team.

- Support material segregation and control for high-value, sensitive, or deployment-critical inventory.

- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.

- Partner with Materials, Production, Deployment, and Supply Chain to develop inventory control procedures, standard work, and KPI reporting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, materials management, or a physical logistics role within an aerospace, defense, or high-volume hardware manufacturing environment.

- Hands-on experience with cycle counting methodologies and physical inventory verification processes.

- Proven ability to trace discrepancies to their root cause through documentation and transaction research.

- Working proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for inventory lookups and transaction review.

- Analytical skills and proficiency working with Excel spreadsheets for sorting, filtering, and basic data analysis.

- Ability to be onsite, local to Santa Ana, CA or Costa Mesa, CA

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Associate's degree in supply chain, manufacturing, business, or a related operations field.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with a high rate of production.

- Experience working with digital inventory counting tools and barcode scanning environments.

- Basic understanding of AS9100 standards, government property management guidelines, and 5S/Lean methodologies.

- Experience with ABC inventory classification and Data Reconciliation counting programs.

- Experience supporting process development and transitioning from low-volume/prototyping to high-rate production.

- Strong investigative mindset and detail-oriented problem-solver who enjoys working as part of a high-performing, mission-driven warehouse team.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document findings clearly and collaborate across floor and office teams.
