Job Title: Principal Product Manager (OpenText Business Network - Healthcare Solutions)
Job Location: Richmond Hill/ Mississauga/ Waterloo, ON, Canada (Office based)
The Opportunity:
OpenText Business Network (OTBN) is a cloud-based platform that enables secure, compliant, and efficient collaboration across digital ecosystems of people, systems, and things. Our solutions simplify the complexities of B2B data exchange and deliver actionable insights that accelerate revenue, improve customer satisfaction, and drive operational excellence.
We are on a mission to turn information into secure action through digital knowledge workers—and we’re looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead our strategic efforts to define and drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution of healthcare connectivity, compliance, and workflow solutions in the Healthcare Industry. This role will guide mission-critical capabilities that enable secure clinical, administrative, and regulatory data exchange across providers, payers, intermediaries, and healthcare technology partners.
As the senior product leader for this domain, you will establish an outside-in point of view, translate market and regulatory change into differentiated product direction, and align Engineering and cross-functional teams around measurable business and client outcomes. The ideal candidate combines deep healthcare industry knowledge, strong product judgment, technical fluency, and the ability to lead through influence in a global, matrixed environment.
What the role offers:
- Own the healthcare product vision and multi-year strategy. Define portfolio direction across interoperability, clinical workflow integration, administrative automation, regulatory compliance, and secure data exchange.
- Translate market and regulatory change into product priorities. Monitor evolving U.S. healthcare policies, programs, and standards, and convert them into clear investment themes, roadmaps, epics, and measurable outcomes.
- Champion interoperability and platform modernization. Partner with Engineering and Architecture to deliver scalable, cloud-ready capabilities using modern integration patterns, APIs, HL7, FHIR, and secure workflow automation.
- Engage clients and the healthcare ecosystem. Conduct direct discovery with healthcare organizations, partners, and industry stakeholders to identify unmet needs, validate direction, and shape differentiated value propositions.
- Drive AI-enabled innovation. Identify practical opportunities to apply AI to workflow automation, data quality, exception handling, operational visibility, and product-management productivity while meeting healthcare privacy and compliance expectations.
- Guide portfolio investment decisions. Use market evidence, client insights, financial considerations, adoption signals, and delivery capacity to recommend where to invest, expand, partner, maintain, or simplify.
- Build cross-functional alignment. Partner with Engineering, Compliance, Security, Product Marketing, Sales, Professional Services, Support, and Client Success to coordinate execution and field readiness.
- Define and manage success metrics. Establish KPIs for adoption, client value, quality, regulatory readiness, revenue impact, and operational performance; use these signals to adjust priorities and roadmap decisions.
- Serve as a healthcare product evangelist. Communicate strategy and progress to senior leaders and represent OpenText with clients, partners, analysts, and relevant industry forums.
What you need to succeed:
- Product leadership experience. Typically 8+ years in product management for enterprise software, SaaS, integration platforms, healthcare IT, or adjacent regulated industries, including ownership of complex or multi-solution portfolios.
- Healthcare domain expertise. Strong understanding of U.S. healthcare operations, including provider and payer workflows, clinical and administrative data exchange, interoperability, and regulatory compliance.
- Standards and compliance knowledge. Practical experience with healthcare standards and regulations such as HL7, FHIR, HIPAA, and relevant CMS programs.
- Market-driven product practice. Demonstrated success using market research, competitive intelligence, client discovery, and analytics to create strategy and prioritize investment.
- Business and execution discipline. Experience building business cases, managing roadmaps and backlogs, defining KPIs, and moving initiatives from concept through launch and adoption.
- Executive communication. Ability to simplify complex healthcare and technical topics, influence senior stakeholders, and communicate a compelling product narrative.
- Global collaboration. Proven effectiveness in matrixed, distributed organizations and in leading without direct authority.
- Education. Bachelor degree in business, healthcare, engineering, computer science, or a related field; advanced degree is an asset.
