Role Purpose:
The Level 2 FRAML Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth investigations of escalated fraud and AML cases, ensuring accurate assessment of suspicious activities, and determining appropriate actions in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies. The role supports the bank’s financial crime prevention efforts through detailed analysis, decision-making, and escalation of confirmed risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth investigations on escalated fraud and AML cases from Level 1 screening.
- Perform detailed analysis of complex transaction patterns, account linkages, and customer behaviours, including raising Requests for Information (RFI) to customers when necessary.
- Assess and validate suspicious activity indicators to determine risk severity and typology.
- Prepare investigation reports with a clear rationale for escalation, closure, or filing of INSAR, and recommend and initiate appropriate actions, including account restrictions, enhanced monitoring, or further case escalation.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (AML Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Business Units) for case resolution.
- Handle special investigative requests such as law enforcement support.
- Identify emerging fraud/AML trends and contribute to rule tuning and scenario enhancements.
- Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards.
- Maintain high-quality documentation to support audit and regulatory reviews.
Key Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in AML investigations, fraud investigations, or financial crime compliance.
- Strong understanding of AML/CFT regulations, fraud typologies, and transaction monitoring concepts.
- Experience in handling complex investigations, including account link analysis and behavioural pattern detection.
- Familiarity with INSAR reporting processes and regulatory expectations.
- Ability to perform deep-dive analysis on large and complex datasets.
- Strong investigative mindset with excellent critical thinking and attention to detail.
- Experience in handling customer RFIs and drafting clear, concise investigation narratives.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate findings clearly.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple high-priority cases under tight SLAs.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced financial crime operations environment.
