About this role

Role Purpose:

The role is responsible for performing Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and Ongoing Due Diligence (ODD) to ensure customers are properly identified, risk-assessed, and continuously monitored in accordance with AML/CFT regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform onboarding due diligence for individual and corporate customers, including KYC verification, sanctions/PEP/adverse media screening, and customer risk profiling, while identifying and escalating any inconsistencies or red flags during onboarding
- Conduct EDD for high-risk customers such as PEPs, customers from high-risk jurisdictions, and complex ownership structures, including analysis of Source of Funds (SOF), Source of Wealth (SOW), adverse media review, and providing clear risk assessment and onboarding recommendations
- Perform ODD through periodic and trigger-based KYC reviews (e.g., unusual transactions, profile changes, system alerts), ensuring customer information remains accurate and risk ratings are regularly reassessed based on behavioral and transactional changes
- Apply a risk-based approach in evaluating customer profiles and activities, escalating high-risk or suspicious cases to Compliance, and supporting decisions on account restriction, monitoring, or closure where necessary
- Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready case documentation, ensuring compliance with AML/CFT policies, internal SOPs, and regulatory requirements, and supporting internal and external audit requests when required
- Collaborate closely with onboarding, fraud, transaction monitoring, and compliance teams, provide insights on emerging risk trends and typologies, and support continuous process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives

Key Requirements:

- Degree in Finance, Business, Law, or related field
- 2–5 years’ experience in AML, CDD, EDD, or financial crime roles (senior level requires more experience)
- Banking, fintech, or regulatory background preferred
- Strong understanding of AML/CFT regulations
- Knowledge of KYC/CDD/EDD frameworks and risk-based approach
- Analytical and investigative skills
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
