About this role
Opengear is expanding its DevOps capability to support the development of our next-generation networking appliances and software platforms. We are seeking an intermediate-level DevOps Engineer to help maintain and evolve our hybrid cloud and on-prem build and test infrastructure, as well as future SaaS endeavours.
The role is hands-on and technical. You will support nd improve our CI systems, cloud environments and automated test infrastructure spanning AWS, Azure and physical label hardware. Strong cloud experience (particularly AWS) is essential.
What You Will Do:
Maintain our existing Cloud services on AWS and Azure
Maintain our hybrid CI infrastructure
Support engineering teams by improving build/test environment reliability
Develop effective automation and resource utilization to reduce infrastructure costs.
Continuously improve our development and deployment processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.
Who you are:
Required
o Understanding of software development lifecycle and continuous integration processes, with a focus on GitHub and GitHub Actions.
o Proven experience with designing, deploying, and maintaining end to end Infrastructure as code.
o Proven experience with AWS
o Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
o System administration experience including activities such as user management, security management, OS installation, patching and system monitoring.
o 2+ years experience

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $95,000 – $149,000. Pay ranges are determined by role, job level and primary job location. The range displayed reflects the reasonable range we anticipate paying for this position and reflects the cost of labor within several U.S. geographic markets. The specific salary offered within the range will depend on various factors including, but not limited to the candidates relevant and prior experience, education, skills, and primary work location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each position. Pay ranges are typically reviewed and updated annually.
