About this role

Description

Amazon Ads helps businesses connect with customers through full-funnel advertising solutions that combine deep audience understanding with innovative technology. We develop marketing programs that provide actionable insights and opportunities for advertisers, partnering with enterprise brands, agencies, and technology platforms to drive mutually beneficial growth.
The Ads Regional Marketing team drives comprehension and accelerates adoption of Amazon Ads' full-funnel solutions among enterprise advertisers across international marketplaces. We are globally consistent yet locally relevant, aligning our marketing programs to regional buying cycles, customer behaviors, and product adoption patterns while reflecting the cultures and commercial environments of the markets we serve.
We are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to own and deliver a Japan-first integrated marketing roadmap. You will define the audience strategy across all marketing activity in Japan, creating differentiated programs for enterprise advertisers, holding companies, and independent agencies that position Amazon Ads as a preferred partner within Japan's advertising landscape. You will drive measurable growth through always-on programs that integrate owned and industry events, digital content, partner marketing, executive engagements, industry partnerships, and paid media into a single, coordinated customer journey. This is an individual contributor role with significant cross-functional influence, reporting to the Head of Regional Marketing.
The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of the Japanese advertising landscape—including agency group structures, media buying norms, and advertiser planning cycles—and a track record of executing B2B marketing strategies aligned to enterprise sales cycles and Japan-specific planning windows. You understand how decisions are made across holding companies, their subsidiary agencies, and independent shops, and you translate that knowledge into programs that resonate with each cohort. This is a fast-moving role that demands strong ownership, sharp prioritization, and clear communication. Day-to-day activities will evolve as our business grows; by owning a cross-channel annual roadmap you can expect to deliver across both strategy and execution. Responsibilities span senior stakeholder management, channel investment allocation, and audience strategy, through to content development, thought leadership, and budget management. You thrive in ambiguity and operate with flexibility. You manage a demanding project pipeline autonomously, partner effectively across global and regional teams, and advocate confidently for Japan marketplace needs within a global organization.

Key job responsibilities
• Own the Japan integrated marketing roadmap, connecting events, digital and content marketing, partner marketing, executive engagement, industry partnerships, and paid media into a coherent, always-on customer journey aligned to Japan advertiser planning cycles and product adoption patterns
• Define the Japan audience strategy, determining how Amazon Ads priorities and engages enterprise advertisers, holding companies, and independent agencies with differentiated approaches that reflect their distinct decision-making structures and needs
• Develop Japan-specific thought leadership campaigns that articulate the Amazon Ads value proposition, leveraging research, insights, success stories, and industry partnerships relevant to the Japanese market
• Identify the right combination and sequencing of marketing touchpoints across the customer lifecycle to deepen engagement and accelerate commercial outcomes
• Own accountability for marketing's contributions to Japan business objectives. You build and maintain strong relationships with sales leadership, partner teams, industry leaders, and the broader Amazon Ads Marketing organization, representing marketing in key Japan-level business planning
• Establish clear goals and measurement mechanisms to understand marketing effectiveness; conduct structured reviews and contribute insights to operational planning narratives
• Own program budgets and finance reporting, ensuring investment aligns with strategic priorities
