Position Summary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for independently diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment at customer locations. This position operates a company service truck and serves as a professional representative of the dealership by providing efficient service solutions, exceptional customer support, and quality workmanship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment and related systems in the field.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and electronic control systems.
- Accurately document diagnostics, repairs, labor, and parts usage on work orders.
- Maintain service truck inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Communicate equipment status, repair recommendations, and completed work to customers in a professional manner.
- Meet productivity and efficiency expectations. Efficiency: maintains 90% on a 12-month average.
- Operate and maintain company vehicles and diagnostic equipment safely and responsibly.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Participate in manufacturer and company training programs to maintain technical proficiency.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, diesel, or related repair experience.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with computer-based diagnostic software and service tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must possess an adequate technician toolset.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and perform physical tasks associated with equipment diagnostics and repair.
