Assistant Manager – Financial Services
Summary
This pivotal role within the Financial Services sector seeks a seasoned professional with five to six years of specialized experience to oversee critical accounting operations and financial reporting. The incumbent will serve as a key driver in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the company's financial data, playing an essential part in the month-end and year-end close cycles. By managing complex reconciliation processes and preparing comprehensive financial statements, this position directly supports strategic decision-making and maintains strict adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide insightful commentary to explain financial fluctuations.
- Manage the end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) lifecycle to ensure data integrity.
- Oversee General Ledger accounting functions and maintain accurate financial records.
- Execute group consolidation procedures and handle inter-company reconciliations.
- Prepare and review essential financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements.
- Administer fixed asset registers and manage accounting for prepayments, accruals, and deferrals.
- Perform rigorous balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Process and post journal entries while finalizing books for the relevant accounting periods.
Requirements
- Proven work experience of 5 to 6 years within the financial services industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in Variance Analysis and the ability to draft clear commentary.
- Strong proficiency in executing the Record-to-Report (R2R) process.
- Solid background in General Ledger Accounting principles.
- Experience with financial consolidation and inter-company reconciliation tasks.
- Capability to prepare accurate P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Knowledge of Fixed Assets management and handling prepaid, accrued, and deferred items.
- Skilled in performing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining detailed schedules.
- Ability to manage year-end and month-end close activities efficiently.
- Competence in creating journal entries and finalizing books closure.
