As Global Customs Compliance Officer, you will ensure compliant, efficient, and scalable cross-border operations across Demant’s global supply chain. As the global subject matter expert and governance lead, you will strengthen the customs and trade compliance framework, guide regional and local stakeholders, and manage key regulatory risks. Working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners, you will support strategic business initiatives, optimize customs processes, improve efficiency, mitigate costs, and further develop Demant’s global customs and trade compliance capabilities.

What tasks are waiting for you?

- Developing, implementing, and continuously improving Demant's global customs and related trade compliance framework, ensuring consistent governance, clear responsibilities, effective controls, risk assessment, performance monitoring, and audit readiness;

- Driving the development and governance of Demant's global customs data model, ensuring accurate, consistent, and appropriately controlled customs-related master data across systems, regions, and business processes;

- Acting as the internal subject matter expert on customs and customs-related trade compliance matters, providing strategic guidance and expert support to regional and local stakeholders;

- Acting as the global escalation point and providing expert support on significant or complex customs matters, including authority inquiries, audits, investigations, classification reviews, and situations where regulatory requirements or interpretations create challenges for Demant, facilitating appropriate assessment, decision-making, and coordination across relevant internal and external stakeholders;

- Owning the governance and strategic management of Demant's global customs broker network, including broker strategy and selection, service and compliance requirements, performance governance, and alignment of customs processes across regions.

It would be great if you have:

- 7+ years of relevant experience, including demonstrated responsibility for

- developing or managing customs and trade compliance frameworks in an international organization;

- have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transport, Logistics, Supply chain management or a related field;

- strong knowledge of customs and customs-related trade compliance requirements, including HS classification, Country of Origin, preferential origin and Free Trade Agreements, customs valuation, duties, tariffs, and Incoterms;

- strong understanding of global import and export processes within a manufacturing, distribution, or complex supply chain environment;

- experience developing and maintaining customs compliance frameworks, controls, policies, governance processes, and audit readiness across multiple countries or regions;

- experience supporting significant customs audits, compliance reviews, regulatory inquiries, and complex customs-related matters.
