About the Role
We are looking for a motivated investment professional with a strong interest in sustainability to join our international Responsible Investing team within Swiss Re Asset Management.
As a Responsible Investing Analyst , you will contribute across a broad range of responsible investment activities, from supporting investment teams and developing frameworks to portfolio analysis, sustainability reporting and interpretation of regulatory requirements. A particular focus of the role will be on the continued integration of responsible investing considerations across private assets, an increasingly important area of focus for our investment portfolio.
You will work closely with investment teams across different asset classes and collaborate with colleagues across Asset Management and other functions, including Group Sustainability, Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Communications and Investor Relations.
The role offers the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of institutional asset management while building expertise at the intersection of investments, sustainability and portfolio management . You will also be equipped to use AI-enabled and digital tools to improve research, analysis and team workflows, while applying appropriate judgment and validation.
Your key responsibilities will include
- Regulatory and industry developments: Monitor relevant sustainability-related regulation, market standards and responsible investment frameworks, assess their potential implications for Asset Management and support their implementation where relevant.
- Investment analysis and sustainability integration: Analyse sustainability-related risks, opportunities and investment implications across different asset classes, supporting investment teams in integrating financially relevant environmental, social and governance considerations into their processes and decision-making.
- Strategy and frameworks: Contribute to the development and implementation of Swiss Re's Responsible Investing strategy, policies and supporting frameworks, translating strategic objectives into practical approaches across investment portfolios.
- External manager assessment: Support responsible investment due diligence and monitoring of external asset managers, including the assessment of their sustainability related capabilities, -investment processes, -governance, -data and -reporting.
- Portfolio monitoring and analysis: Support quantitative and qualitative analysis of portfolio sustainability characteristics, identifying trends, exposures and emerging issues and translating these into relevant insights for investment teams and management.
- Reporting and disclosures: Coordinate and contribute to internal and external responsible investment reporting, including annual and sustainability reporting, regulatory disclosures, industry questionnaires and other ad hoc information requests.
- Materials for senior management: Support the preparation of high-quality materials for internal governance bodies and senior management, including portfolio insights, presentations, briefings and decision materials.
- Stakeholder engagement: Work closely with investment teams and relevant functions across Swiss Re as well as relevant industry initiatives to support consistent implementation of the Responsible Investing approach and respond to internal and external stakeholder requirements.
About the Team
The Responsible Investing team is an international team within Swiss Re Asset Management, with colleagues based in Zurich and Bratislava.
We work across asset classes and in close partnership with investment teams to support the implementation and continued development of Swiss Re's Responsible Investing strategy. Our responsibilities span investment integration, portfolio analysis, frameworks and policies, regulatory developments, reporting, external manager assessment and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsible investing continues to evolve rapidly, particularly across private assets where investment structures, data availability and approaches to sustainability integration are developing substantially. Joining the team offers the opportunity to contribute to shaping how these topics are embedded in the investment process while gaining broad exposure to institutional asset management.
About You
You combine an interest in sustainability with a genuine curiosity about investments and financial markets. You are analytical and structured, comfortable working with both quantitative data and qualitative information, and able to translate complex topics into clearly communicated conclusions.
You enjoy working collaboratively across different teams and are comfortable taking ownership of your work while operating in an evolving environment.
You bring:
- A university degree in finance, economics, sustainability or another relevant discipline. Additional qualifications such as CFA, CFA ESG or CFA Climate preferred.
- Ideally 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in asset management, investment analysis, responsible investing, sustainable finance, financial services or a related field with good understanding of financial markets and various asset classes.
- An interest in private markets and ideally some exposure to private asset investment, investment due diligence or external manager assessment.
- A good understanding of responsible investment and sustainability concepts and an interest in how these affect investment risk, return and portfolio management.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work confidently with financial and sustainability data.
- Very good Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with data analytics, visualisation or automation tools would be an advantage.
- Experience using AI-enabled tools to support research, analysis and productivity, with the ability to critically evaluate and validate outputs and apply critical thinking, judgement in their use.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to prepare concise, high-quality materials for different audiences.
- A structured and reliable working style, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines.
- Intellectual curiosity, adaptability and a collaborative mindset, with the confidence to ask questions, constructively challenge assumptions and continuously improve ways of working.
For Switzerland, the base salary range for this position is between CHF 107'000 and CHF 161'000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
