Senior Software Engineer I leads the full software development lifecycle, ensures technical excellence and adherence to best practices, mentors and coaches junior engineers, and collaborates cross-functionally to achieve organizational goals.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experience; advanced degree preferred
Work Experience:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent level based on role requirements) with a strong focus on Java-based application development.
- Proven experience building and maintaining distributed, scalable, multi-tier applications.
- Experience in application design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Experience working in cloud environments and modern software delivery practices is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and deliver scalable solutions.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code quality practices, and DevOps principles.
- Experience with unit, integration, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, NoSQL, and relational databases
- Knowledge of the core tools used in the planning, analyzing, crafting, building, testing, configuring, and maintaining of assigned application(s)
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience leading small teams, mentoring engineers, or driving technical initiatives.
- Experience conducting architecture reviews and influencing technical direction.
- Basic Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of event streaming platforms such as Kafka is a plus
