Job requirements
To take overall responsibility for the project management of their own portfolio of medium-high complexity clients, from planning, preparation and peer review through to audit and completion, in accordance with agreed deadlines.
To efficiently prepare accurate accounting information for clients in compliance with regulations & in accordance with agreed Service level Agreements. To prepare ad hoc financial information as requested. Be accountable for the standard and quality of own work and peer review work undertaken by other team members and GSD.
To complete all associated routine tasks, following agreed business procedural requirements, including accurate time recording, use of standard templates, peer review, e-filing, WIP reporting and mandatory training.
Has direct reports for training/coaching/peer review purposes.
Monitoring/assisting more junior PFAs to plan and organise their portfolios.
Part-qualified AAT/ACCA examinations or equivalent experience.
Previous experience of working in an accounting environment or financial services industry.
Strong technical accounting knowledge.
Computer literate in Word/Excel/Accounts software.
Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
Ability to communicate professionally, and effectively, to build relationships with various internal parties such as GSD/Admin/SE/DCC/Cashflow/Treasury etc. and with various external parties such as auditors, Trustees, investment managers/consultants/actuaries etc.
Participate in some areas of team/management duties such as:
1. Producing Management information, such as capacity planning.
2. Caseware Development Team
3. Academy
4. Ad-hoc accounts working parties eg one platform review/SORP review
5. Business Improvement Forum
6. Prepare quotes/review tender documents/letters of engagement
7. Aptia representative for liaison with external accounting bodies, such as PRAG, ACCA
8. VAT/tax/technical/TPR specialist
