About this role

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Monitoring Engineer / Jira Admin to own the operational monitoring and observability ecosystem, including dashboards, alerts, event correlation, SLA reporting, and Jira administration, ensuring that operational teams can proactively identify and manage production issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain AppDynamics, GCP Cloud Monitoring, Grafana, Elastic/Kibana, and related monitoring tools.
• Build and maintain operational dashboards covering application availability, infrastructure health, API performance, business transactions, and database health.
• Configure and tune monitoring thresholds and alerts.
• Reduce alert noise and improve actionable alerting.
• Correlate logs, metrics, and application events during incidents.
• Identify monitoring gaps and recommend additional instrumentation.
• Develop SLA and operational-performance dashboards.
• Produce availability, incident, and monitoring reports.
• Administer Jira workflows used by the Operations team.
• Configure Jira queues, SLAs, workflows, notifications, dashboards, and reports.
• Support automation of ticket creation and operational workflows.
• Ensure alerts are routed to the correct operational teams.
• Support major incident investigations with observability data.
• Maintain monitoring standards and documentation.
• Continuously improve proactive incident detection.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 2+ years in monitoring, observability, application support, or IT operations.
• Jira administration certification is advantageous.
• AppDynamics or observability certification is preferred.
• ITIL Foundation preferred.
