Job Requirements
We are looking for experienced engineers to join Server Appliance (SA) engineering teams. SA engineering teams develop the software platform layer that resides between medical applications and the IT infrastructure, supporting both on-premise and virtualized deployments. The SA teams also manage CICD, deployment automation, test automation, and related tooling.
This is a highly technical role that requires hands-on expertise of virtualization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, VMware, Nutanix), CI/CD and automation/scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible). Stakeholders in the SA teams’ work include other Server Appliance and medical application engineering teams, verification lead(s), Product Management, Project Management, Product Support Engineering, and the Global Customer Service organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible)
- Develops and maintains Server Appliance test automation and related tooling
- Reviews pipeline and automated test results, investigates possible failures and ensures each failure is managed accordingly.
- Reviews own and other members’ code, raises and manages review findings
- Reviews relevant requirements, specifications and other documentation to clarify and understand expectations.
- Writes and updates documentation as needed for information sharing as well as regulatory purposes
- Participates in maintaining the agile team’s work backlog, helps plan and prioritize work
- Joins the agile team’s ceremonies and presents work as needed (daily, sprint planning, sprint review, demo)
- Presents and shares technical findings and developments with stakeholders.
- Raises possible improvement opportunities or concerns for discussion with stakeholders.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 8+ Years of Hands-on experience of professional software engineering in at least one of the following: DevOps or CICD engineering, systems engineering, or platform engineering.
- Hands-on experience with each of the following:
o Virtualization (e.g. VMware, Nutanix, Azure)
o Containerization (e.g., Docker)
o Container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, RKE2, or similar)
o CICD, scripting, and deployment automation (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell)
- Strong personal work management skills, with reliable delivery and ownership to drive agreed work items to completion in planned timeframe
- Proactiveness and prioritization as necessary to manage addressing possible business critical problems in team’s responsibility areas
- Strong quality mindset, ensuring high stakeholder satisfaction and minimizing downtime (e.g., if business critical pipelines are broken) and escalating problems as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, to ensure seamless communication with stakeholders and to produce technical documentation of solutions
Preferred Qualification s
- Experience of Windows Server, including Active Directory and Group Policy
- Experience of Linux administration
- Experience working in a regulated industry under a Quality Management System.
- Experience supporting healthcare, medical device, regulated, or mission-critical environments
