About this role
Responsible for ensuring reliable and efficient operation of plant machinery, utilities, electrical systems, and infrastructure through effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance. The role focuses on minimizing equipment downtime, improving equipment reliability, controlling maintenance costs, and ensuring compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
Ensure maximum machine availability and minimum downtime through effective maintenance practices.
Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of recurring equipment failures.
Prepare and monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion.
Supervise maintenance activities related to mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, utilities, and facility systems.
Monitor critical equipment and maintain adequate spares, consumables, and maintenance tools.
Coordinate with production teams to plan maintenance activities without affecting production schedules.
Manage and supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, fitters, and contractors.
Maintain equipment history, breakdown records, maintenance logs, and other engineering documentation.
Analyze maintenance KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability, downtime, and maintenance cost.
Identify opportunities for energy saving, cost reduction, equipment improvement, and process optimization.
Coordinate installation, commissioning, modification, and maintenance of new machinery and equipment.
Manage external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and service activities.
Ensure compliance with EHS, statutory, electrical, fire-safety, and other applicable requirements.
Conduct regular inspections of machines, utilities, electrical panels, compressors, pumps, HVAC systems, DG sets, etc., as applicable.
Support CAPEX projects, equipment upgrades, automation improvements, and plant expansion activities.
Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, manuals, SOPs, and maintenance records.
Participate in audits and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Promote a culture of 5S, TPM, continuous improvement, and workplace safety.
Required Qualifications
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
Typically 5–10 years of relevant experience in plant engineering and maintenance.
Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment is preferred.
