Job Title: Applications Engineer Job Description The Applications Engineer provides hands-on engineering support to customers while partnering closely with internal teams to drive cost savings, improve processes, and support new product opportunities. This role focuses on design assistance, technical support, and process standardization, while collaborating across engineering, quality, production, sourcing, and sales to ensure customer requirements are met and operational efficiency continues to improve. The position offers the opportunity to make a visible impact in a growing operation, work directly with customers, and help shape processes that support ongoing business growth. Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support to customers, including cost savings initiatives, training, design assistance, and process standardization.
- Partner with sales and branch teams to deliver technical support, perform print reviews, and prepare accurate quotations.
- Identify and develop new product and part opportunities in collaboration with customer engineering and product development teams.
- Work closely with materials, sourcing, and supplier teams to support production, implement new components, and manage specification changes.
- Assist with quality investigations and help resolve product application issues to maintain performance and reliability.
- Review and support sample submissions to ensure they meet customer specifications and internal standards.
- Help ensure customer requirements are consistently met while driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Manage multiple engineering priorities and contribute to projects while meeting established timelines.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align expectations, share technical information, and support customer success.
- Support local customers and internal teams through periodic travel, as needed, to provide on-site technical assistance and collaboration.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering preferred.
- 2+ years of engineering experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with mechanical part prints and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
- Experience in applications engineering, including providing technical support and design assistance.
- Proficiency with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, and other engineering design tools.
- Ability to perform reverse engineering and work with bills of materials (BOMs).
- Strong project management abilities, including managing quotes, timelines, and multiple concurrent priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively to cross-functional projects.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel locally up to approximately 1030% of the time.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working directly with customers in a technical or engineering capacity.
- Experience supporting fastener applications or similar mechanical components.
- Experience conducting print reviews and collaborating with customer engineering teams.
- Exposure to quality investigations and product application troubleshooting.
- Background in process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Comfort working across engineering, quality, production, sourcing, and sales functions.
Work Environment This role is primarily onsite with hybrid work options when traveling for customer or internal visits. The position follows a Monday through Friday, first-shift schedule, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility to accommodate business and customer needs. The environment involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and direct interaction with customers, providing broad exposure to engineering, quality, production, sourcing, and sales activities within a growing operation.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $110000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
