About this role
On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Health and Safety manager for a 6 Month contract based in London (3 days per week on site).

As a Health and Safety Manager , your main responsibilities will be:
- Scope and define the DSEAR improvement programme, identifying requirements, priorities, deliverables and appropriate timescales.
- Develop and coordinate a structured rollout plan for the programme across relevant locations within the Southern Region.
- Complete comprehensive DSEAR assessments, identifying hazardous substances, potentially explosive atmospheres and associated risks.
- Identify areas of non-compliance or improvement and provide clear, proportionate recommendations and remedial actions.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams, site stakeholders and other health and safety professionals to support effective implementation of DSEAR requirements.
- Monitor progress against the improvement programme, maintaining accurate assessment records and providing clear updates on risks, actions and delivery.
Essential:
- Strong knowledge and practical understanding of DSEAR requirements and their application within operational environments.
- Demonstrable experience of independently carrying out and documenting DSEAR assessments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant UK health and safety legislation, regulations and risk management principles .
- Experience of scoping, planning and delivering health, safety or regulatory compliance improvement programmes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into clear and practical actions.
- Ability to work autonomously across multiple locations, prioritising workloads and delivering high-quality assessments and recommendations within agreed timescales.
Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
