JOB MISSION:

We are seeking a creative and talented Graphic Designer I to join our team supporting Sportswear Apparel, Graphic Tee & Fleece . This role requires strong conceptual design skills, a deep understanding of graphic design, print, and visual trends, and a proactive, collaborative mindset. The Graphic Designer I will translate design direction into brand-right graphics, prints, trims, and visual assets, while supporting the product creation process from concept through execution. Success in this role requires strong communication, attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to partner cross-functionally to deliver innovative, consumer-driven products.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Collaborate with Design Leadership and cross-functional partners to create brand-relevant graphics, prints, trims, and visual assets that reflect New Balance's design DNA and quality standards.
- Support the end-to-end graphic design process, including concept ideation, original artwork creation, technical package development, strike-off review, and production-ready execution.
- Prepare and deliver compelling visual and verbal presentations that effectively communicate design concepts and recommendations.
- Partner closely with designers, category leads, and product development teams to solve design and execution challenges throughout the product creation cycle.
- Research and apply current and emerging trends in graphic design, color, materials, visual culture, and consumer insights to drive relevant and innovative solutions.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, adaptability, and attention to detail while managing multiple projects, timelines, and priorities.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation by challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities to improve design, materials, processes, and product outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Apparel Design, or a related design field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant graphic design experience, preferably within apparel, fashion, or sportswear.
- Strong foundation in graphic design principles, including illustration, typography, branding, print and pattern design, color theory, composition, and layout.
- Demonstrated ability to work across a variety of graphic and illustration styles while maintaining brand consistency.
- Experience creating apparel graphics, repeat prints, and artwork packages for product development.
- Solid understanding of apparel print, embellishment, and production techniques; knowledge of garment construction is a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience with CLO 3D or other 3D design tools is preferred.
- Interest in and willingness to develop 3D design capabilities, as 3D visualization and development will be an important component of the role.
- Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to objectively evaluate, refine, and curate design work.
- Passion for global streetwear, fashion, sport culture, and the evolving sportswear industry.
- Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and strong work ethic.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Boston, MA Headquarters - (NB) Only Pay Range: $86,800.00 - $112,000.00 - $137,200.00 Annual (actual base pay varying based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, geographic location, and more.)

Flexible Work Schedule

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
