Your Role: Electrical Assistant Project Manager

As an Electrical Assistant Project Manager at Fountain Services, you will work closely with Project Managers and field leadership to support commercial and industrial electrical projects from pre-construction through closeout. You will help coordinate schedules, materials, manpower, budgets, and project documentation to keep work moving safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

This role is an opportunity for an experienced electrical professional to apply their field knowledge, strengthen their project management skills, and continue building a long-term career with Fountain.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist Project Managers with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination across multiple projects.

- Track project costs, labor hours, material deliveries, and progress; communicate potential delays, budget concerns, and other issues to the Project Manager.

- Coordinate with customers, general contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

- Review and interpret electrical plans, blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents; assist with layout drawings and identify questions or conflicts requiring clarification.

- Prepare, track, and maintain requests for information (RFIs), submittals, purchase orders, change order documentation, and other project records.

- Assist with material purchasing, delivery scheduling, and administration of vendor, supplier, and subcontractor agreements.

- Work with Project Managers, Foremen, and Superintendents to coordinate manpower needs, work sequencing, and jobsite priorities.

- Support estimators and project engineers with scope reviews, takeoffs, pricing, and project handoffs as needed.

- Visit jobsites regularly, attend project meetings, and document progress, action items, and follow-up needs.

- Support field leadership in resolving project issues and maintaining clear communication between the office and jobsites.

- Assist with quality assurance and quality control, and support compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and company safety standards.

- Assist with punch lists, as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, and other project closeout requirements.

Minimum Requirements

- High school diploma or GED.

- Minimum 10 years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience.

- At least 5 years of experience as a Foreman or Superintendent.

- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and construction documents.

- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and follow-through skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work well under time constraints.

- Ability to work collaboratively with office staff, field leadership, and external project partners.

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel to assigned jobsites.

- Must pass a drug screening and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship, trade school, or technical training program.

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

- Relevant electrical licenses or certifications, such as Journeyman or Master Electrician.

- Experience as an electrical estimator or project engineer.

- Experience with project documentation, cost tracking, material procurement, and scheduling.

- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and other project management tools.
