The SEO Strategist works across keyword and content strategy, technical SEO, local search, competitive analysis, and emerging search technologies, partnering with execution teams to move recommendations into action.
The right person is analytical, curious, organized, and comfortable taking ownership. They should enjoy solving problems, explaining what the data means, and helping teams focus on the work that will make the biggest difference.
- Develop keyword, content, and landing-page strategies aligned with dealership goals and search intent.
- Plan model, comparison, service, and local-market content that improves visibility and attracts qualified traffic.
- Identify and prioritize technical SEO issues involving crawling, indexing, site architecture, internal linking, schema, and page performance.
- Use Google Search Console, analytics platforms, ranking tools, and audit tools to diagnose issues and uncover opportunities.
- Build local-search strategies, including Google Business Profile recommendations and location-focused content plans.
- Analyze competitors, rankings, and market conditions to identify gaps and recommend next steps.
- Turn client requests and meeting notes into clearly scoped, prioritized action plans.
- Partner with SEO Operations, Content, Development, and Account Teams to move strategies into execution.
- Review complex, compliance-sensitive, or high-risk SEO changes when technical or strategic oversight is needed.
- Monitor results, explain findings clearly, and adjust plans based on performance.
- Stay current on search-engine updates, automotive retail trends, and AI-assisted search, including generative engine optimization, and recommend practical tests and adjustments.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of SEO or digital marketing experience, including ownership of SEO strategy and performance analysis.
- Experience with technical SEO, keyword research, content planning, local search, and competitive analysis.
- Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, ranking platforms, and crawling tools.
- Ability to turn data and open-ended requests into clear priorities and practical recommendations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project-management, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client strategies, deadlines, and cross-functional handoffs.
- Clear communication, consistent follow-through, and comfort working with content, development, and account teams.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Automotive, dealership, OEM, or advertising agency experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Analytics, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
