About You and this Role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for an OTEC Turnaround Director.   This role has global responsibility for the safe & efficient execution of MEGA turnarounds while also leading the implementation of turnaround best practices across all businesses and geographies. This is a growth opportunity for an experienced plant or department leader to continue the redesign and implementation of turnaround execution and best practices for Dow.  A successful candidate will need to demonstrate and strengthen skills in people leadership with direct reports located globally, in partnership with peers in OTEC, Envelopes, Sites, EHS, and Procurement, in communicating and presenting to company leadership, and in financial acumen. The preferred location for this position is the U.S. Gulf Coast. Other locations where there is Mega turnaround presence may be considered (EMEAI and Canada and Latin America).

In this role, the OTEC Turnaround Director will lead and integrate turnaround best practices and OTEC turnaround resources globally to maximize EBIT by executing first quartile turnarounds in safety, total cost, duration, and craftsmanship. The OTEC Turnaround Director will own global turnaround best practices and implementation of turnaround decision rights, ensuring alignment between OTEC, Envelopes, Sites, EHS, and Procurement.  Utilizing the Platinum TA Work Process, you will drive effective planning, governance, FEL, and execution of turnarounds with a core team embedded in Mega turnarounds.

As the primary integrator across OTEC, Envelopes, Sites, EHS, and Procurement, you will ensure timely decisions, resource alignment, funding optimization, and successful turnaround execution. You will partner closely with Manufacturing Asset Strategy Directors and Site leadership to improve cycle-to-cycle reliability performance, optimize turnaround outcomes, and deploy technologies and practices that enhance asset availability and business profitability.

Responsibilities

Turnaround Leadership & Execution

- Lead OTEC turnaround teams to implement turnaround best practices effectively and deliver best-in-class safety, planning, scheduling, cost management, coordination, and execution across Mega turnarounds.
- Apply the Platinum TA Work Process to ensure timely involvement of all critical stakeholders and functions throughout turnaround planning and execution.
- Develop and maintain turnaround schedules, budgets, resource plans, and critical path activities.
- Define turnaround best practices including enforce governance and administrative controls to ensure best practices are implemented, and leverage the best practices to non-mega turnarounds.
- Integrate OTEC, Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and Contractors to optimize turnaround duration, cost, and business impact.
- Manage execution-phase issues and risks to ensure turnaround objectives are achieved safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Translate value opportunities into risk, reliability, and best practices.
- Prepare and communicate turnaround closure reports and ensure lessons learned, plans, and data are archived for future use.

Governance, Funding & Business Integration

- Coordinate site integration and OTEC resource per Mega turnaround.
- Lead OTEC governance and decision-making processes for turnarounds.
- Serve as the primary integrator across OTEC, Envelopes, Sites, and Procurement for turnarounds and funding decisions.
- Partner with Manufacturing Asset Strategy Directors & Envelope Reliability & Turnaround Directors to ensure business priorities are reflected in turnaround strategies and executions.
- Facilitate the rollup of Corporate Turnaround budgets for Dow and Diamond

Continuous Improvement & Leadership

- Partner with OTEC and other stakeholders to improve turnaround execution methodologies, organizational effectiveness, and deployment of new technologies.
- Provide leadership in regional, site, and global networks to advance turnaround best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reliability, cost performance, and execution effectiveness.
- Foster collaboration and alignment across Envelopes and Sites to ensure consistent execution of turnaround best practices.

Qualifications

- A minimum of a bachelor's degree (i.e. engineering is preferred)
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Prior department or plant leadership experience in manufacturing, envelopes, or multi-site organizations.
- Must be willing and able to travel a minimum of 25% annually (both domestically & internationally).
- A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the country for which you are applying. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications

- Extensive experience in turnaround management, reliability engineering, maintenance strategy, asset management, or related disciplines.
- Deep understanding of turnaround planning, execution, governance, and the Platinum TA Work Process.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing decisions without direct authority in complex organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively across multiple businesses and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
