For more than 130 years , Episcopal Homes of Minnesota has been a trusted leader in senior care in St. Pauls Midway neighborhood. Our vibrant campus offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Home Care services.
We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and help create enjoyable, high-quality dining experiences for our residents. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, takes pride in their work, and wants to be part of a team that makes a difference every day.
Pay & Schedule
Pay: $21.50–$24.50/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-Time, Tuesday–Saturday
Hours: 11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
Sunday Shift: 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., as scheduled
Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
Holidays: Alternating holidays required

What Youll Do
- Prepare meals according to recipes, production sheets, and dietary guidelines
- Ensure food meets standards for quality, portion size, temperature, and presentation
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and work area
- Complete production and tally sheets accurately
- Use ingredients and leftovers efficiently to help reduce food waste
- Monitor food and supply needs and report shortages as needed
- Report equipment concerns or malfunctions promptly
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team to provide a positive dining experience for residents
Qualifications
Required
- Previous food preparation or production experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Basic math skills for portioning and food preparation
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and dietary guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to work in hot and cold kitchen environments
Preferred
- Culinary experience in senior living, healthcare, or a similar setting
- Experience preparing meals for special diets

- Prior food production experience, preferably in a healthcare facility.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Basic math skills for performing simple calculations.
- Working knowledge of special diets and food safety guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English required to ensure safe patient care, accurately document in medical records, and effectively communicate with patients, families, and the care team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a senior care or healthcare setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain standing for most of the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing at least 35 pounds.
- Capability to work in environments with extreme temperature variations (hot kitchens or cold storage areas).
- Ability to perform tasks within time constraints.
Working Conditions:
- Flexible working hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and alternating holidays.
- Exposure to sharp instruments, power-driven equipment, and caustic chemicals.
- Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and pork products.
- Work environments may include extreme temperatures and varying humidity levels.
