About this role
For more than 130 years , Episcopal Homes of Minnesota has been serving older adults in St. Pauls Midway neighborhood. Our campus offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, Home Care, and Hospice services.
We are looking for a dependable and friendly Culinary Aide to join our team. In this role, you will help with meal service, dining room setup, dishes, cleaning, and making sure residents have a positive dining experience.
Schedule & Pay
Wage: $19.09–$19.75/hour, depending on experience
FTE: Part-Time, 0.4 FTE
Hours: Eight 4-hour shifts per pay period
Tuesday–Saturday: 3:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
Sunday: 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Weekends: Every other weekend
Holidays: Alternating holidays
There may also be opportunities to pick up additional shifts to help cover illnesses and employee time off.
What Youll Do
- Set up the dining room before meals
- Assist residents with meal selections and meal delivery
- Serve beverages and help with meal service
- Clear tables and dishes after meals
- Keep food, beverages, utensils, and supplies stocked
- Clean and sanitize tables, dining areas, and food preparation areas
- Reset the dining room for the next meal
- Operate the dishwasher and clean dishes, trays, glasses, cups, and silverware
- Put away clean dishes and food service items
- Clean and sanitize food delivery equipment
- Help keep the kitchen and dining areas clean and safe
- Work with the culinary team to provide a good dining experience for our residents
What Were Looking For

- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Previous food service experience is preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for most of the shift
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to work in a warm kitchen environment
- Ability to safely work around kitchen equipment and cleaning products
- Ability to work scheduled evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an eighth-grade education.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work effectively with others.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English required to ensure safe patient care, accurately document in medical records, and effectively communicate with patients, families, and the care team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior food production experience, preferably in a healthcare facility.
- Ability to fulfill all facility hiring practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain standing for most working hours.
- Must be physically fit as determined by a physical exam.
- Must be non-allergic to a variety of foods, soaps, detergents, and cleaning compounds.
- Ability to lift at least 35 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to perform assigned tasks as required.
- Flexible work hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Exposure to hot and humid work environments.
- Possible exposure to sharp instruments, power-driven equipment, and caustic chemicals.
- Routine tasks may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
- May be in contact with pork products.
