We are searching for the best talent for a Senior Scientist to join the Discovery Immunology group to help advance innovative therapeutics for autoimmune diseases in La Jolla, CA. This lab-based role offers the opportunity to shape discovery strategy and influence program decisions from target validation through drug candidate progression.
Responsibilities are as follows:
- Independently design, execute, analyze, and interpret complex biological studies that inform target validation, mechanism of action, and program progression.
- Own the scientific quality, timely delivery, and documentation of research results.
- Synthesize literature and data, communicate clear recommendations, and influence decisions with project teams and management.
- Provide technical guidance and scientific mentorship to colleagues; partner across functions to advance program objectives.
- Contribute, as appropriate, to abstracts/posters, publications, technical reports, and patent applications.
Required qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Immunology or a related field with 1–3 years of additional relevant laboratory experience.
- Strong foundation in immunology, including an understanding of the cells, cytokines, and signaling pathways that drive autoimmune disease.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in primary cell isolation and cell culture, in vitro cell-based models of inflammation, in vivo models of autoimmune disease, and spectral flow cytometry.
- Ability to leverage multi-omic approaches such as single cell RNASeq and spatial transcriptomics to explore novel biology and the MoA of therapeutic candidates.
- Strong scientific judgment, excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed environment.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience performing in vitro cell-based assays to measure the potency of large or small molecule therapeutics.
- Experience with laboratory automation to increase experimental scale and efficiency.

- Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
- Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
- Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
- Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
The anticipated base pay range for this position is: $105,000 - $169,050

$109,000.00 - $174,800.00
