About this role
To plan, deliver, and monitor physical performance programmes that optimise player readiness, robustness, and availability across the Women’s Football environment (First Team and Development Squad). The role supports long-term athletic development, injury risk reduction, and match performance through evidence-based training aligned with the club’s performance model and relevant league and FA performance support standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver gym-based and pitch-based strength, power, speed, and conditioning programmes.
- Plan and periodise physical training in alignment with the technical and tactical programme.
- Monitor and manage training load, recovery, and physical readiness in collaboration with medical staff.
- Support injury prevention strategies and contribute to return-to-play and return-to performance processes.
- Conduct and analyse physical performance testing and profiling.
- Support physical preparation for training and match days.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions regarding player availability and performance planning.
- Maintain accurate performance data and reporting systems.
- Support education of players in training habits, recovery, and physical development.
- Support and coordinate the nutritional provision for the women’s team, including supplementation and pre- and post-match / training food, while adhering to anti-doping guidelines and working within the wider multidisciplinary support model.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- Degree in Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning, or a related discipline.
- Accredited Strength & Conditioning qualification (e.g. NSCA CSCS, UKSCA, ASCA or equivalent).
- Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAIF) or equivalent.
- Safeguarding and DBS clearance.
- UK Anti-Doping Introduction to Clean Sport Certificate.
- Experience delivering strength and conditioning programmes within elite or high-performance sport.
- Experience working with professional or developing athletes.
- Experience operating within a multidisciplinary performance team.
Desirable
- Experience working within professional women's football.
- Postgraduate qualification in Strength & Conditioning or Sport Science.
- Experience using GPS and athlete monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of FA and/or Women's Super League (WSL) performance environments.
