Join a team where precision meets leadership. We’re seeking an experienced Plumbing Foreman to oversee underground, rough-in, and trim plumbing installations across complex commercial and industrial projects. This position demands mastery of plumbing systems, strategic oversight of field crews, and commitment to safety, quality, and code compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Training & Development:
Train installers on their duties including but not limited to the outline listed below, always looking for the “next man up”.
- Safety Management:
Uphold and promote safety standards across all job sites, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
- Resource Management:
Efficiently manage manpower and resources, ensuring optimal use of rental equipment and proper storage of materials.
- Project Planning:
Anticipate future work needs, preparing for upcoming tasks and ensuring all materials and personnel are ready.
- Reporting:
Complete daily reports for builders, documenting progress, challenges, and resource allocation. Reporting daily to immediate general foreman and supervisor.
- Equipment Care:
Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment to prolong their lifespan and effectiveness.
- Builder & Employee Relations:
Foster strong relationships with builders and team members, promoting open communication and collaboration.
- Project Health Assessment:
Monitor project progress and health, ensuring that specifications and scopes of work are consistently met.
- Quality Control:
Ensure that all work meets quality standards “The Markade Way” and code compliance.
- Meetings:
Participate in job trailer meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies with the team.
- Change orders
Log and fill out proper work authorization forms as new additional work is requested and developed.
Underground Plumbing (Soils)
- Excavate trenches with proper slope for plumbing installation
- Cut in appropriate combinations and wyes for main trunk line
- Build straight stacks and fixtures: toilets, floor drains, floor sinks
- Secure piping with rebar and proper tie-wire techniques
- Install hubsets, cleanouts, and stacks to proper elevation
- Test systems with water and wrap piping for protection
- Measure and verify stack placements and copper lines for trap primers
- Install cast iron pipes, septic systems, grease interceptors, sleeves, bull horns
Rough-In Plumbing (Topout/Gas)
- Drill and run vent and water systems
- Hang pipe, punch studs, and execute proper tie-down procedures
- Apply loop hangers, uni-strut clamps, midpoint strapping, and insulation methods
- Level floor drains, sinks, and install trap primers and closet flanges
- Execute fire caulking, FHA straps, nail plates, pipe-tights, and foam insulation
- Install mixing/balancing valves, roof drain harnesses, condensate systems
- Operate thread machines (up to 4"), solder copper pipe without leaks
- Install water heaters, vents, wall hydrants
Trim Plumbing
- Install finish fixtures: faucets, lavs, toilets, urinals, valves
- Level and test floor drains and indirect/funnel drains
- Complete dishwashers, RO systems, softeners, triple-comp sinks
- Execute hookups for ice machines, booster pumps, condensate drains
- Install water heaters (tank/tankless), backflows, expansion tanks
- Apply fire caulk, silicone, sweat rings, set water temperatures
- Comply with ADA and code requirements
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 100 lbs, climb ladders, crawl, kneel, swing sledge hammer
- Work in tight spaces and varying weather (30°F – 115°F)
- Operate jackhammers and dig with picks/shovels
- Move full wheelbarrows, climb stairs with tools, work 8–10 hours/day
Additional Requirements
