Position Overview:

To lead the strategic and creative direction of content, turning brand objectives, audience insight and cultural understanding into ideas that people genuinely want to see, engage with and remember. This is a 12-month fixed term position

The Content Strategy Manager is a senior, hands-on creative lead, responsible for taking ideas from the first spark of a thought through to the final piece of content. They set the creative ambition, shape and challenge the thinking, and make sure every idea is brought to life with purpose, personality and a high level of craft.

Whether developing the idea, refining the brief, leading a shoot, challenging an edit or getting into the detail of a final asset, they take ownership, are confident saying when something isn't quite there yet and know how to push it further.

Working closely with the Art Director and wider creative team, they will shape work that feels visually exciting, culturally relevant and right for the brand, without losing the strategic thinking behind it.

They are naturally curious about culture, social behaviour, creators, trends and new ways of communicating, using these insights to spark fresh thinking and keep the work moving forward.

Ultimately, the Content Strategy Manager sets the creative bar for the work. They bring the thinking, energy and leadership needed to turn good ideas into work that feels distinctive, ambitious and genuinely worth putting out into the world.

Key Responsibilities:

Creative Strategy & Brief Development

- Lead the development of clear, inspiring creative briefs rooted in brand objectives, audience insight and commercial goals, challenging briefs where there is an opportunity to push the thinking further.

- Develop bold, original ideas that answer the brief while pushing the brand creatively.

- Set the creative ambition for each project and give the team a clear direction to work towards.

- Present and confidently sell creative thinking to clients and internal stakeholders.

Brand & Audience

- Build a strong understanding of each brand, its audience, positioning, competitors and category.

- Use audience, social and cultural insight to identify opportunities for brands to show up in a more distinctive and culturally relevant way.

- Ensure creative thinking is rooted in what is relevant to the audience rather than simply following trends.

- Build strong relationships with clients and act as a senior creative partner, bringing confidence and clarity to conversations.

Creative Leadership & Shoot Direction

- Lead creative direction across shoots for campaigns, always-on and reactive content where required.

- Take ownership on set, making quick creative decisions and giving clear direction to photographers, videographers, models, creators and production teams.

- Work closely with the Art Director to ensure the visual execution delivers against the creative vision.

- Make sure the content brief is fully met while looking for opportunities to capture stronger or additional assets.

- Review the work throughout production and post-production, challenging anything that does not meet the expected creative standard and making sure the final assets are genuinely strong, not simply complete.

Creative Development

- Lead the development of ideas across campaigns, always-on, reactive, creator and UGC content.

- Stay close to culture, social behaviour, emerging formats and creative trends to identify opportunities for brands.

- Challenge safe or predictable thinking and expected category conventions, pushing ideas to become more distinctive.

- Encourage the team to explore new creative territories and ways of communicating with audiences.

Collaboration & Leadership

- Act as a senior creative voice across social, creative, production and accounts, creating clarity on the thinking behind ideas and what needs to be delivered.

- Partner with Accounts to ensure client expectations are understood and creative opportunities are identified.

- Support and develop more junior members of the team through honest, constructive feedback, guidance and creative mentorship.

- Encourage an open and ambitious creative culture where people feel comfortable sharing and challenging ideas and take real pride in what they produce.

Performance & Learning

- Use content performance, audience behaviour and social insights to understand what is working and inform future briefs and creative development.

- Balance creative ambition with the need to deliver against brand and commercial objectives.

Requirements

- Strong experience in content strategy, creative strategy and social, with a proven track record of developing and leading creative ideas from brief through to execution.

- Strong understanding of social platforms, content formats, audiences and cultural trends.

- Experience leading or directing shoots and working with photographers, videographers, creators and production teams.

- Strong creative judgement with an ability to recognise what makes an idea or piece of content genuinely strong.

- Confident presenting creative ideas and challenging conversations with clients and internal stakeholders.

- Strong understanding of brand strategy and how to translate it into engaging content.

- Commercially aware, with the ability to balance creative ambition with client and business objectives.

- Highly collaborative and hands-on, but confident enough to take ownership and make decisions rather than overseeing from a distance.

- A natural leader who can bring people with them, raise standards and get the best out of the wider team.

Benefits

- Participation in Annual & New Business Bonus Schemes

- Up to 29 days leave + bank holidays

- Summer hours

- Free breakfast & refreshments

- Company pension scheme

- Cycle to Work scheme

- Enhanced family friendly benefits

- A warm, supportive team & a dog-friendly office
