# Job Description
Job Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing associates to achieve operational excellence within a designated manufacturing area. This role provides day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to ensure employees are engaged, accountable, and focused on continuous improvement.
The Production Supervisor drives performance in safety, quality, productivity, cost, housekeeping, and policy compliance while fostering a positive, high-performing team environment. This position ensures adherence to BD quality systems, company policies, and all applicable local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations. Regular attendance, effective communication in English, and a commitment to BD Values are essential requirements of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment by addressing safety concerns and incidents promptly.
- Spend at least 75% of work time on the production floor coaching, mentoring, and supporting associates.
- Develop and execute department staffing, onboarding, and training plans.
- Provide timely, constructive, and specific performance feedback.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.
- Maintain open communication between production associates and leadership.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
- Partner with Human Resources to address employee relations matters when needed.
- Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Production Planning to establish and achieve production schedules.
- Monitor and communicate production metrics, goals, and department performance.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations and ensure efficient workflow execution.
- Perform additional duties as required to support business objectives.

- Ensure manufactured products consistently meet established quality standards.
- Meet or exceed operational targets related to safety, quality, productivity, cost, and efficiency.
- Build, develop, and retain a high-performing production team.
- Create a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
### Education & Experience
Minimum Education
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred
- Associate Degree in Business, Industrial Management, or a related field
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Applied Science, Industrial Management, Engineering, Human Resources, or a related discipline
Alternative Qualification
- In lieu of an Associate Degree, a minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
