About this role

About the Role

This is a project-based internship. Rather than generalized administrative tasks, you will be assigned a core technical project to own from start to finish. This role offers hands-on experience, culminating in an end-of-program presentation to technical leadership.

The intern will support the research, evaluation, and proposal of improved contract strategies targeting ongoing regulatory changes in Africa. The intern will gain hands-on experience in regulatory analysis, risk management, commercial operations, and value creation within the international mining contract industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Take ownership of a dedicated 12-week project, managing timelines, and delivering a final technical report and presentation .

- Conduct comprehensive regulatory reviews to monitor shifting local content requirements, procurement rules, and policy changes.

- Analyze and assess current mining contracts and overarching commercial strategies to determine their effectiveness in the evolving regulatory landscape.

- Evaluate and map contract-related risks, commercial vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps.

- Develop and implement strategic roadmaps to mitigate identified risks, optimize contract value, and safeguard business operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Currently enrolled as a rising senior in an Undergraduate program pursuing a degree in Supply Chain or a closely related field.

- Strong analytical and research skills to gather, evaluate, and interpret complex information.

- Proven ability to conduct thorough data analysis and translate raw data into actionable insights.

- Solid understanding of project management fundamentals, including tracking timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

- Working knowledge of financial analysis principles to evaluate project impacts and overall viability.

- Familiarity with change management methodologies to help support smooth organizational transitions and process improvements.

- Demonstrated capability in stakeholder engagement, with the interpersonal skills needed to communicate effectively and influence others.

- A collaborative mindset with an eagerness to learn and proactively ask questions.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

- Valid driver’s license required; Routine travel between Las Vegas and Beatty is required.

Fall Recruitment Timeline & Hiring Milestones

September 15 – October 30, 2026 (Application Review): Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Early submission is highly encouraged.

Successful applicants will move to a virtual interview with the internship program manager.

October 12 – November 6, 2026 (Final Rounds): Finalists are invited to a virtual hiring manager interview.

November 16 – 20, 2026 (Offers Extended): Final hiring decisions and official offer letters will be extended before the winter university break.
