About this role

Responsibilities of a Brandeis Club Sports Coach/Instructor may include the following:

- Conduct safe, organized, and productive practices and training sessions that help club members develop and improve their sport-specific skills.
- Provide sport-specific instruction, coaching, and constructive feedback appropriate to the team's experience and competitive level.
- Work collaboratively with student club leaders to establish practice plans, team goals, and expectations.
- Support the personal, athletic, and leadership development of student-athletes.
- Maintain a coaching philosophy consistent with the goals and student-development mission of the Brandeis Club Sports program and the Department of Athletics, Physical Education & Recreation.
- Promote and model good sportsmanship, fair play, respect, and positive team culture.
- Represent Brandeis University and the Club Sports program in a professional and positive manner at all times.
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants during practices, competitions, and team activities.
- Travel with the team to competitions when required and provide appropriate coaching and supervision during team travel.
- Ensure that all participants follow applicable Brandeis University, Club Sports, facility, league, and governing-body policies and rules.
- Support student leaders in maintaining a team environment free from alcohol, illegal substances, harassment, discrimination, and other inappropriate conduct during Club Sports activities.
- Assist student leaders in ensuring that participants have completed all required Club Sports registration, waiver, and eligibility requirements before participating in practices or competitions.
- Communicate regularly with student club leaders and/or the Club Sports Administrator regarding team activities, scheduling, competitions, and concerns that may arise.
- Take part in other team or Club Sports responsibilities as appropriate to the needs of the program.

Hiring Range: $1500 - $8000.
