Schedule: Flexibility to support and attend events with early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements: Applicants are required to submit to a drug test as part of the hiring process. Personal access to reliable transportation for travel within the surrounding areas of San Antonio and Bexar County is required.

General Summary: The position optimizes day-to-day supply chain operations with a relentless focus on waste reduction, data accuracy, inventory precision, and compliance. This role evaluates distribution trends, implements cycle counting, and scaling internal distribution channels to ensure food securely reaches our community partners.

Impact:

Warehouse Operations & Inventory

- Manages according to operational procedures for the receiving, warehousing, and distribution of food products to partner agencies of the San Antonio Food Bank.

- Develop and implement procedures that achieve perpetual inventory control and accuracy targets using cycle count methodology.

- Collaborates with the Inventory Team to perform monthly inventory of products and maintains an inventory control system.

- Conduct a weekly review of inventory overages to provide recommendations, and ensure a process is in place to monitor inventory rotation.

- Supervises warehouse inventory levels and ensures distribution channels are developed for disbursement.

QA/QC, Auditing, & Compliance

- Complies with the requirements as set forth by local, state, and national regulatory agencies in warehousing and safety.

- Complies with the standards set forth by Feeding America and promotes food safety, personal safety, and abides by AIB regulations to ensure complete audit readiness.

- Provide technical assistance regarding warehousing, inventory, and distribution practices and ensures prompt responses to service-related concerns.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination

- Complies with the requirements as set forth by local, state, and national regulatory agencies in warehousing and safety.

- Complies with the standards set forth by Feeding America and promotes food safety, personal safety, and abides by AIB regulations to ensure complete audit readiness.

- Provide technical assistance regarding warehousing, inventory, and distribution practices and ensures prompt responses to service-related concerns.

Required Job Qualifications:

Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field—or an equivalent combination of formal education, industry training, and work experience.

- Proven experience as a Supply Chain Manager or in a similar role with in-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, and distribution.

- Experience supervising regular full-time paid staff, including experience providing effective training, supervision, motivation, and delegation to others.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and contracts in product acquisition and distribution.

- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, use computer systems consistent with operations, and show proficiency in word processing, database management, and spreadsheets.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good judgment, discretion, and a professional demeanor under a variety of conditions.

- High attention to detail, accuracy, strong organization of work/time, and a proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently with minimum supervision.

- Ability to work cooperatively with other Food Bank staff, donors, and volunteers.

Certifications & Licenses

- Current Texas driver’s license, liability insurance, and a clean driving record.

- Current ServSafe Manager’s Certification (or must successfully obtain prior to first day of employment.).

Preferred Job Qualifications:

- Experience working in a non-profit, social-enterprise, high-volume, or perishable goods environment..

- Prior experience working with food banks, Feeding America networks, or emergency relief systems.

Physical Demands

Constantly required to sit, talk, hear, keyboard, and utilize fine manipulation and near visual acuity.

Occasionally required to walk, utilize gross manipulation, push, pull, reach, and stoop.

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

This job is primarily performed in an indoor warehouse environment and also includes frequent entry into a cooler and freezer with temperatures as low as 0°F.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
