JOB TITLE: Store room Clerk

REPORTS TO: Fleet Maintenance Manager
PAY RATE: $16.00
JOB FUNCTION:
Researches, looks up, and issues parts and supplies; receives, labels, stores, documents, and secures all parts and supplies in the MATA Storeroom in support of Bus Maintenance operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives parts, adds labels to each part, and stocks parts the same day by assigning new stock numbers as needed, typing bin tags as necessary, and entering data in the computer as required. Also receives and verifies materials and supplies. Resolves problem shipments as needed.
- Provides counter service to maintenance personnel; issues parts and supplies per authorized work orders.
- Issues parts to maintenance personnel as directed.
- Delivers office supplies and materials to designated departments and personnel.
- Cleans and organizes shelves, bins, racks, and all storeroom areas.
- Maintains a clean, orderly, and secure storeroom always .
- Ensures credibility and accuracy of information entered on work orders.
- Maintains the filing system for invoices and purchase orders (POs).
- Types packing slips and prepares RFMs on materials to be returned or reclaimed. Packs reclamation materials and arranges for pickup as needed.
- Reconciles daily and monthly inventory as assigned.
- Performs cycle counts and physical inventory as assigned.
- Frequently checks email and maintains timely communication with Maintenance personnel.
- Inspects and cleans spill buckets monthly in accordance with environmental compliance requirements.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs duties of other Stores Clerks as needed.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as directed by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• High school diploma or GED required. Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
Other:
• Minimum of 1 year of storeroom or inventory-related experience preferred.
• Must be a self-starter with a can-do attitude and able to work independently as well as be a team player.
• Must demonstrate willingness and ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Must be able to successfully use a personal computer and accurately enter data into spreadsheets or other inventory programs.
• Requires ability to handle numerous activities at one time and move between tasks. Able to organize tasks in accordance with company and department priorities and complete them efficiently and on time.
• Must be willing to work shift hours and days as assigned.
• Must be willing to comply with MATA's Drug and Alcohol Policy.
• Must always comply with MATA safety protocols.
• Regular and consistent attendance is required.
Environment:
• Extensive sitting is required while using office equipment such as computers and phones. Some standing and walking during a normal workday will also be required, as well as bending, stooping, and crouching.
• For work performed in inside working conditions, must be able to tolerate changes in building environment such as with or without air conditioning or heating. Must also be able to withstand exposure to varying outdoor weather conditions, dust, engine odors, and extreme noise levels.
• Will be required to occasionally move up to 70 pounds by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.
• Close visual acuity to perform detail-oriented activities as well as activities at or within arm's reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer screen, or reading documents and other materials.
• Fingering and repetitive motions required for data entry, while picking items up, filing, or operating office equipment.
• Able to express or exchange ideas accurately through oral communication or by phone at an audible volume, and able to differentiate between sounds in the work environment.
