Job Description:

An opportunity for a Senior Simulator Project Manager / Lead Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).

The selected candidate will join the A400M Simulator Program Management team. The department is in charge of managing and supervising the entire development lifecycle of A400M simulators, from the initial sales stage through to final customer delivery. The jobholder will reinforce our team by taking end-to-end project management ownership, leading technical decision-making, contractual management, and coordinating key suppliers and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of simulator projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main tasks of the jobholder will be:

- Lead end-to-end simulator project management: Drive projects from the initial sales phase through design, validation, customer acceptance, and final delivery.
- Integrate and analyze program data: Manage time, cost, resources, and quality metrics, including project planning, scheduling, and breakdown structures (WBS).
- Manage stakeholders and contractual changes: Oversee strategic relationships with aircraft manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors, and end clients, managing contractual data configuration control and change management.
- Make key technical decisions: Direct high-level technical choices related to the development, architecture, and implementation of simulators and all their subcomponents.
- Monitor performance and manage risks: Execute risk and opportunity management, milestone tracking, phase reviews, performance reporting, and PM process/tools implementation.
- Travel as required: Willingness to undertake short, regular business trips (approximately once a month).

SKILLS

- Education: Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience (10+ years preferred) in project management within the simulator industry or complex aerospace programs.
- Soft skills: Strong communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, high initiative, and a proven ability to manage complex high-level stakeholders.
- Languages: Advanced level in English (minimum C1), essential for international contract management and daily stakeholder interaction.
- Technical knowledge: End-to-end project management, contract control, supplier management, PM processes and tools implementation, risk management, and technical decision-making in simulator systems.
- Valuable / Nice to have: Prior experience in the A400M program or specialized military/civil simulation environments. Immediate availability.
